Overland is a turn based puzzle game where you play as various survivors in a post apocalypse world. In this game you first play as Jesse, a guy who did a music video once, and still has a movie ticket. Your goal is to escape each location while finding supplies and gas to keep you and your car running. Every location has a different setting too. Whether it's meeting new survivors to help defend you. Or salvaging weapons to help kill monsters, it's always something new. Every action you do has an ultimate outcome on your survival. If you get hit by a monster, you move less on the map. If you kill a monster, much more spawn. Each monster too is sophisticated to how you move. Some move 2 tiles, while others move one. Some can block and predict your moves, while others walk randomly. As you travel more and more across the US, the locations become more difficult, especially if you run out of gas.
Keeping your gas stock up, and your survivors at full health will greatly make each location much easier. Though if you end up like me, the game becomes much more difficult when gas is low, and all of your survivors are injured. If this game had some sort of attrition system, where players regained their health overtime, the game would probably be more enjoyable. As during my time playing the game I didn't encounter too many health packs. I give this game a 5/10.
