How did you implement the Theme: Easter Horror in your game?
The player is on an island where there's a serial killer wearing a rabbit mask. Also the player has to collect easter eggs (literally) around the island.

Did you implement any of the Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
Yes, the serial killer is basically the Easter Bunny. Also the player has to collect easter eggs.

Does your game contain AI-generated assets?

No

see vid at 3:29:17. I liekd the environment alot--my favorite parts were the gory elements all over the island. I did have some fun trying to cheat the collisions towards the end haha.

Thank you so much! We are really glad you enjoyed the environment, we had a lot of fun designing it!

We appreciate you trying our game and keep an eye on it, we might be able to release a new polished version! Stay tuned :)

I think the game is simple yet very effective at being scary, this is probably a browser problem but the killer kept chasing no matter what which made some of the eggs too difficult to collect, I think reducing pursuit time of the killer can help players breath and reflect on their fear as the gameplay goes on. Overall a very chilling experience.

Thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear the horror felt effective. My design idea was to create a sense of hopelessness and isolation, making the player feel like a prey, giving them constant tension. Really glad that came through!

The game had a strong horror atmosphere, and the island setting worked well for creating tension and isolation. A more gradual build-up in difficulty would have helped, giving the player more time to learn the mechanics, explore the environment, and let the suspense grow naturally.

Thank you so much! That was exactly my design goal: to give the player a senso of tension and isolation! Really glad and happy that came through! I might need to work on balancing those feelings to pace the experience in a better way. Thank you! :)

I loved the intro, it really locked me in and all the security cameras with all the corpses caught my attention but when I triggered the killer and the chase starts, it was kind of annoying because I couldn't even find a way to flee from him. The notes were a bit difficult to catch and sometimes I even clipped out from walls (specially the cabin and the toilet). I know it is a game jam but if you continue developing this, something more Cannibal Holocaust-oriented wold fit perfectly (in my humble opinion).

Thank you! We really wanted to create a sense of isolation and that feeling of being watched.

We still have some things to polish but we are really glad you tried and enjoyed our game!

I think there's potential here for a good game, the opening section certainly did have good atmosphere, with the misty forest and you coming across the dead bodies, the security cameras on the trees seemingly watching your every move etc. But once the killer shows up, it just takes him to spot you one time to trigger a chase, and it seems to be almost impossible to shake him off your trail. I've managed to do it only once and I still can't tell how (with the chase restarting soon after anyway).

The easter eggs are fine to collect, but collecting the notes is very difficult while being chased, as you seem to need to align the camera at a specific angle and be at a specific distance to even get the interact prompt. And time doesn't pause while you are reading a note, so not something you can really afford to do while being chased.

There's also a friendly NPC next to some building that you can talk to. It seems like you are meant to come across her during the opening section of the game, but she is still there even after the killer shows up. And talking to her doesn't stop time and if you talk to her while running from the killer, you just get stuck in the dialogue while running forward uncontrollably. It would be for the best to make it so you either can't talk to her while chased or just have her disappear once the killer shows up.

I also discovered that you can just walk on the water surrounding the island, which I doubt is intended. The killer can even chase you there, all the way to the edge of the map.

Overall, these are just the signs of an unfinished, work-in-progress game, which is absolutely fine for a test jam project. There are certainly good ideas here and the overall graphical style and sound design are fine. The game just needs more polish overall. Keep making games and I'm sure your next ones will be much better!

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback, I really appreciate it! It gives me a lot of ideas for improvement.

I'm really glad you enjoyed the atmosphere, I really wanted to give the player a feeling of isolation, being hunted and constantly watched.

You're absolutely right about the killer's behavior, it needs more polishing. Also I might need to give the player a way to escape and to catch a breath from time to time.  Adding checkpoints is also something I'm considering, so players don't have to restart from the beginning every time.

Feedback like this is incredibly valuable to me, as a game designer. It really helps me improve and refine the experience to better match what I have in mind. Thank you again for playing and for the encouragement, it means a lot!
