  • A vast improvement over the previous game in terms of presentation, but the upgraded gameplay feels a bit too complex for its own good in some cases, like with the slightly finicky action menu and the isometric graphics sometimes obscuring clickable tiles as well as action range indicators. I also encountered a softlock when dying in a level with a tree and at least one surviving enemy, the game gets stuck on the tree constantly healing the enemies. I quite like seeing enemies visit the inn on the menu screen and be greeted by the innkeeper, though, a cool detail that feels like a nice reward for pulling through!
  • incredible depth of game mechanics, and now in isometric view to reeeally hit that FFT/disgaea nerve :) the boss fight gimmicks were cool to figure out how to play around, and i was very excited when i finally cleared paradox/anomaly.
  • Loved everything about this one! Super polished game. My only suggestion would be to add a way to check what each action does during battles.
  • Great entry! Cool graphics, nice music and very polished! The controls and some UI details are a bit weird, but the rest is great. Good job!
  • A pleasant surprise to see a full sequel to a past entry! _So much_ has improved here: the new heroes, world map, event encounters, history of runs, down to smaller details like achievements in the bestiary. I like that your HP carries over and now you have to plan more for the overall run (and potions are more useful now). Appreciate the autosaving since runs can get quite long. Needless to say the art and audio are a big step up too! My one complaint is, I prefer the immediacy of the old UI, this one needs more brainpower and is fatiguing to play because your moveset is behind a menu, so it's harder to play in an 'exploratory' fashion. You also don't get to see your stats often enough, making it harder to know whether a given spell is worth picking/using. I kept pressing Start by accident because I expected it to open a menu, guess that's on me but it is a symptom of the interface being a bit overwhelming. All this to say, the game is truly great but I think there are a few UI tweaks that could make it even greater.
  • Very nice work! I loved playing this game. The title screen music and ambience is absolutely lovely, I could just sit and listen to it on its own. When playing for the first time, I had some difficulty with the UI, but I think these things could easily be improved. For example, when you press the L button during the tutorial, the green highlighting wasn't noticeable enough for me at first, some animation could make it more obvious that something is selected. I sometimes had trouble positioning the cursor on the tile grid and selecting things, and it would be nice to have some sort of option to constrain the cursor to grid tiles, as everything appears to be tile based anyway. Another nice feature to have could be some sort of dictionary of monsters, like when you encounter one for the first time, you unlock some sort of description about it that gives you some hints about how it's going to behave. Overall, very nice work and I look forward to playing this one more!
  • Very good tutorial!
  • Extremely well polished for a jam game, and clearly a very well thought-out elaborate ruleset. Sometimes slightly difficult to navigate the UI, and the sheer complexity of the mechanics does make me long for a slightly more lenient learning curve for tactics noobs like me (after a few hours of play, I still haven't beaten the first boss). But there's no denying this is a really impressive game, basically ready to be shipped and sold - well done!

This looks so polished!

Submitted

As a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, this game really ticks for me! Aside from a couple of small details such as the lack of Turn End UI and a few UI pain points that made me use the wrong attack at the wrong time, it's such a complete game and polished experience! You've managed to pack a lot of content for a game jam, which is incredible!
