This is a really charming and relaxing game, I just had some trouble understanding how to play. Initially clicking into the game, I found the art style to be very unique and fitting, with almost a kind of peaceful painting vibe to it. The soundtrack and sound effects also contributed to building that peaceful and serene atmosphere.

I didn't understand how to play too well. The finger tool blended in with the white background, but I eventually found it and attempted to make a hole in the ground... but after several attempts I still couldn't get any seeds to grow.

I think in-game instructions would really help. Additionally, I think this small change would be very small but change the game experience very positively - matching the cursor's location with the select tool icon. Right now, there is a slight offset, and I found it a bit difficult to place items.

Despite this, I still found the game really enjoyable and fun to play! The art as well as the sound were definitely highlights for me, and with just a few minor tweaks to the gameplay, the player experience could be taken to the next level. Nice work!

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to write that extensive feedback, it really helps! About the seeds not sprouting, did you go to the next day by clicking the bed icon? I tried to explain in the description since we didn't have the time to make a tutorial, but in-game help other than the question mark tool that you can click on a plant with to see what's wrong would indeed be useful.

It could also be that you overwatered the seeds I think? I you haven't completed a quest yet I'd love for you to give it another try, there might be a cat in there somewhere :D

Thank you so much for taking the time to play our game and review it so thouroughly!

I love the art style, but after a few minutes of playing I was unable to get any seeds to sprout. Not quite sure what I was doing wrong

Hi! Thank you for playing! Not sure either, maybe you planted them all too close from each other or over-watered them? The question mark should help but it's pretty hard to click on a planted seed. Did you manage to unlock the cat?

Glad you liked the artsyle and thanks for your comment!

really amazing job ,this is well done in this short time ,loved the art . I used to try to do art with krita but was never too good at it ,  now I am learning Inkscape . was looking forward to planting tomatoes of my own , maybe in the final game!

The "chalky" hand drawn art is so cozy.

  • Unfortunately, my plants turned "crispy," as Liz said haha!
  • The instructions on the itch page are really helpful.
  • The art style, helpful neighbor, and the cozy music / sound effects really tie in together well.

Amazing work, and will be back to plant more!

Thank you for playing! Happy to hear you liked the artstyle :D
Did you manage to "uncrisp" your plants and progress the quests or was that unclear? Thank you for the feedback, I hope you had a good time!
