Well good game, Although I am not a fan of this genre...But still I have seen simmiliar games and this looks like its well made....the only doubt I had, How is this game based on theme RETRO, and where are the 3 buttons [maybe its my issue in understanding the game...still if u say, then ig i can understand it]
Thanks a lot for playing and for the kind words!
About the retro theme: our idea was to approach “retro” beyond just pixel art. We made a video rental store management game, which already felt like a very 80s/90s concept to us, and we also added a small mystery vibe inspired by that era, with a bit of that old PC point-and-click flavor in the text and atmosphere.
For the 3-button limitation, we focused the controls around only three inputs: Up, Down, and Space/Confirm. If the mouse works in some parts, that’s more of a side effect from the UI components, but the intended way to play is using only those three buttons.
We also tried to bring a retro feeling through the soundtrack, the visual style, and the overall mood of the game. We really like pixel art too, but we wanted to show that “retro” can also be about theme, atmosphere, music, and design choices from that time.
It reminded me of the game Papers, Please; it’s not my favorite genre, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game, it’s very creative and interesting, and you even included a translation. Congratulations, it’s really impressive work.
Just two small issues, they didn't ruin the experience, but they might be annoying for some: the menu buttons are a bit buggy (you have to click slightly above them to select), and the game doesn't scale to fit the browser window. Aside from that, the game is great. Congratulations! If you have a moment, please check out my game too.
hey there! thanks for playing our game!
funny that it remembered you about papers please, we previously made and heavy inspired game on it, and decided to took again some (not much as the previous) inspiration on this one
thank you for appointing the issues! the scale one was a problem that made us lose a lot of time trying to fix it, but without success, but we do plan to to some rework and fixes after the jam
again, thanks for playing our game! already played yours and loved it!
