All assets except for my santa assets by default were created respecting the 2 color max. For the Santa Asset, I modified the existing material to make it completely red.
Cookies eaten
Holy moly. How the heck did you know? I ate a whole sleeve of ritz crackers during one of these days.

Dude, this is an absolute LSD trip, but I kind of love it. I think the idea of a rhythm game is cool, me and a few others also did that for the jam, but the theming is kind of mental. I'm not sure if it was intended, but the absurdity of your theming makes it stand out a lot. Really impressive to have laid out the beats for the songs and all that.
In terms of critiques and feedback, I think the timing was off or it was just unclear if the player was meant to collect the candy canes as santa or if they had to be in the lane when the candy canes hit the transparent presents. I also think collecting the record being a bad thing was a little unexpected- I wouldn't think it would be a bad thing so maybe using something else in its place would help.
I appreciate the feedback very much!! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
The constructive feedback is great! I switched aspect ratios near the end of finalizing this product and am now thinking that may have slightly modified the timing. I also should have made it clearer to the player that the record was not to serve as a bad thing. While it inverted your controls it gave you 1.5x the points serving as a multiplier! These are all great learnings for the future. Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback!
"The game is really nice and I really like the gameplay. The music fits the game very well and was chosen perfectly. Great job! Could you take a look at my game too and give me some feedback? Thanks!"
So satisfying!
I found it quite similar to /jam/mini-jam-203-flow/rate/4251228.
Unlike it though, you nailed what I'd argue is the core aspect: hitting notes to the beat.
The SFX are also better integrated, although the "fail" buzzer is a slightly too loud.
Personally I don't care for Christmas songs at all, yet I still had quite some fun!
Thanks so much for visiting my game! I'm sorry you weren't able to play it! I'm unfamiliar with this error, but did a little digging and found some troubleshooting tips that may resolve this on your end. I hope one of these work for you. Alternatively, if you don't feel it worth the hassle, I completely understand as well. Appreciate you!
1. Hard refresh the page
Sometimes the browser caches an incomplete version of the build.
-
Windows: Ctrl + Shift + R
-
Mac: Cmd + Shift + R
Then try launching again.
2. Try a different browser (recommended)
Unity Web games run best on:
-
Google Chrome
-
Microsoft Edge
Browsers that often have issues:
-
Safari
-
Firefox (sometimes)
-
Mobile browsers
3. Disable ad blockers or script blockers temporarily
Extensions like uBlock, Privacy Badger, etc. can block Unity’s loader files.
Try disabling them just for the itch page and reload.
4. Open the game in an Incognito / Private window
This avoids cached files and extension interference.
-
Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
-
Edge: Ctrl+Shift+N
-
Safari: Cmd+Shift+N
5. Clear itch.io site data (if it keeps happening)
If the browser cached a broken build file, clearing site data helps.
In Chrome:
-
Settings → Privacy → Site Settings
-
Search “itch.io”
-
Clear stored data
-
Reload the page
Cool concept with a Guitar Hero–style vibe. I especially liked that the game keeps a strong Christmas aesthetic throughout and doesn’t lose its identity because of free assets (maybe its too late for Christmas vibe?). At the start, it wasn’t immediately clear that you’re supposed to collect the candy canes with your character’s body — I spent about 15 seconds trying to pick them up with the space bar and thought it was just a hitbox issue.
It’s really impressive that you managed to build 3 levels within the jam time, but personally I’d love to see a bit more variety between them — for example, one small unique mechanic per level in addition to the new music (like yout music records that invert controls).
