Which theme(s) did your game incorporate, and how?
My project, Drone Rush: Under Pressure, is built entirely around the core concept of delivering high-stakes cargo while managing escalating tension. The game incorporates the theme through three primary layers:
The Countdown Mechanic: The player’s primary obstacle is a strict countdown timer. Every delivery mission must be completed within a specific timeframe, forcing the player to balance speed with precise drone handling.
Dynamic Visual & Gameplay Shifts: When the timer drops below 10 seconds, the game triggers a "High Pressure" state. A warning icon begins to flash on the screen, and the gameplay intensity increases, simulating the frantic nature of a pilot working against the clock.
The Logistics of Pressure: Players must manage a variety of cargo, including Parcels, Pizzas, and Boxes, each requiring them to navigate the drone through a neon city environment to a specific landing pad. The "Pressure" scales with each level as the delivery targets increase, testing the player's ability to stay calm under a mounting workload.
Risk & Reward Logic: If the timer runs out, the mission fails and the player is reset, emphasizing that every second spent in the air is a precious resource.
Development Details:
Engine: Developed from scratch using Python and Pygame.
Did you use any pre-made assets? If so, what were they and where were they from?
Audio Assets:
Background Music: The track song.mp3 was sourced from a royalty-free music library to provide a high-energy, immersive experience.
Sound Effects: The win sound ptakay.mp3 was utilized as a celebratory audio cue for mission completion.
