How does it fit the theme?
Strange Birds: the player is lured down a forest trail by some particularly odd looking birds. While the birds might have seemed uncanny, they were nothing compared to what the player discovers next. Strange Mead: the player is offered a drink by their new companions. Motivations seem unclear, but the player accepts and is led into a world more bizarre than they could have imagined...

Great orchestration! The interweaving of the melodic lines between the string and woodwind melodies was captivating, alongside the pitched percussion, with the marimba and bells adding texture and ornamental qualities. I like how you also kept the pizzicato strings as the ostinato to give that structure for all the instruments to play on in that 2nd track. I also hear some nice modal mixture usage (not just Ionian Major), especially in the 2nd track with Mixolydian and other modes. This sounds like an OST to a whimsical, yet mysterious fairy tale game or movie. I would absolutely love to see this performed by a live philharmonic! Really great job.

Strange Birds: The use of flute and violin flourishes to represent birds is creative. I love when musical elements are used to evoke a sense of sound design and environmental imagery. I really love the melody that was introduced at the end and I wished that it appeared more!
Strange Mead: This is my favorite of your two tracks. The modal melodies evoke a sense of wonder and it is really cool how you modulate between different harmonic palettes. The warm pizzicato basses are a one of many highlights of this piece for me as well! These are two well-crafted and intriguing tracks. Great work on them and thank you for sharing your music!

Loving the idea of the player being accosted by just some weird birds! I really enjoy how the tension builds up in "Strange Birds", and "Strange Mead" is super pretty.
