  • I like the concept of the game. When I tried playing it, I encountered an error in the middle of the first level that froze the game. I tried multiple times in different browsers. However, what I can say about the game is that I enjoyed the graphics and background music. The way the character is designed and moves really gives the impression that you're a sword rather than a person. I like the different attack styles. The Game Design Document (GDD) is well-written and includes all the desired elements. Another issue I had was that I needed to play the game in full-screen mode; otherwise, I couldn't see all the buttons. This is a game that I would love to play the full version.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
Everyone thinks the hero does the hacking-and-slashing, but who’s really the SHARP one in the story?! In Legacy: Thou Art Sword, you play as a sword attached to a bloke. That is, instead of being the person walking and talking, you are the sword that slashes, spins, and thrusts its way through mobs of enemies. Your bloke is just here for the ride. Live through generations of wielders, build your own reputation, and become legendary.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Instead of being a hero wielding a sword, you ARE and CONTROL the sword. The weapon is foregrounded visually, sonically, and mechanically in our game implementation. Regarding storyline and game information, The sword is what persists throughout levels and wielders to develop a legacy.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Any feedback on how the general gameplay and mechanics.

Awesome! Love the art and music, and I really like the ragdoll character with the sword just pulling him around, very funny! Gameplay overall felt pretty smooth, but I wish the enemies spawned in a little bit faster. Unfortunately the game crashes after about 30 seconds, so hopefully you can figure that out. Great work!
