  • This was a lot of fun to play. Once I understood I could upgrade my own units, I had fun making the most hilariously broken ranger unit of all time! The artstyle is cute and simple with animations that feel smooth, I only wish there were some sort of ""you win!"" screen. It could be that after that, the final boss gets added multiple times just to see how far the player can get before they're inevitably overcome. I think the theme interpretation is a bit too much of a stretch to fit the theme. It feels and sounds more like ""you are the general"" - but aside from that it's a great start!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
Prepare: Use Battlepoints to buy units, assign abilities, and modify stats.
Battle: Your units fight automatically against enemy waves.
Win or Lose:
If you win, earn more Battlepoints to upgrade and refine your team.
If you lose, start from scratch and experiment with new broken builds!

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The theme "You Are the Weapon" is reflected in how your units are your weapons—you don’t just recruit an army, you build it. Every attack speed buff, stat upgrade, and ability you equip turns them into unique, unstoppable forces of destruction.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Is making trying to make cheated units fun in itself or not?

I think I got to the end, that was a lot of fun! The "boss", I think it was at the end almost beat me but fortunately my party won - but I was a little sad to see the game stopped there for me (new music started playing, so I wasn't sure). If you balance the game a bit more, and perhaps introduce more classes and units - I think this would enhance the game a lot more. The upgrades you can purchase for units are a little too powerful, I think 😂most of the rounds ended before my units moved. Overall, a great entry and well done!!

Thanks a lot :)

Haha yes that was the " Boss ". And yes for sure I should add more unit and classes and items 😅 I think I over scoped a bit 😅 but happy that you liked it. I'll try to work further on it.

I tried it at first, and did not realize you could upgrade your units. It gets very strong very quickly - kinda odd the melee guy gets better at being ranged than the rangers though

Wish there were some stronger enemies to go with your wildly overpowered units

I did love druids turned into bears. Bears are cool. This message was brought to you by the bear gang.

Thanks a lot for testing my game ! haha, did not have time to do  more balancing and add enemies sorry  but will later on :) I am going to play yours :)

Good choice of assets, looks nice together. I had a little trouble at first, going straight for base units and dying a couple times. I made it fairly far going rangers first then some druids.

And i was going to leave a review there but then I saw your screenshot with stats for individual units, and played again, this time far too powerful! So some opportunity for UX improvement. It was quite fun and I played longer than I intended!

Thanks a lot for your comment ! I agree, I needed to make it clearer on how to do what, a proper onboarding so to say ^^'
I'll work on it!
Glad that you enjoyed it. Thanks !
