  • This is a extremely creative and interessting interpretation of the theme. Having only one energy core left and needing to reroute power to a single function at a time added a unique layer of strategy and challenge to the game. The interface is clean and uncluttered, which is especially important for this genre. The music fits both the setting and the overall tone. However, the controls felt a bit off, at least with mouse input. There was noticeable drag on the cursor, and if I didn’t move it quickly enough, it would snap back to a default position. While this might work well with a controller, it made mouse control feel sluggish and uncomfortable. The tutorial was a great inclusion, clearly explaining the mechanics and preparing me for the core gameplay loop. That said, even in the tutorial, I ran into a recurring issue: the enemy would at some point simply walk forward, trapping me against a wall and rapidly dealing massive damage while simultaneously healing huge amounts. This happened three times before I stopped, partly due to the judging time limit. Your GDD is great. It covers all the necessary information and offers a deeper look into the development process and narrative planning. That said, the addition of GIFs or images to demonstrate key mechanics would help make it even stronger. Overall, the concept and thematic execution are excellent, but refining mouse controls and balancing enemy behavior would greatly improve the experience.

Summarize your game!
This is a fighting game about giant mechs on the verge of falling apart. There's only one energy core left, and you as the pilot need to redirect it to different parts and systems to keep fighting.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
Traditional for fighting games focus on combos is replaced with resource management by restricting inputs to only one at a time.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I'm very proud of my teammate's soundtrack and Evangelion-inspired interface design

hey i just tried the game, honestly i feel the control is too hard, idk if this intended or not but i think it is intended cause the title itself is "Last Mech Standing". i think that if the game started with a normal working mech first, it would tell the difference between the feel of the mecha. the concept pretty cool tho, a broken mech indicated by the slow animation and the music firing the spirit of "the last Mech Standing".  im thinking adding more frame to the animation would make it better in feeling also adding the game juice will boost the game
