Of all the flappy-bird clones I've played in this jam, this one is by far the best feeling one to play. It's not too hard, yet I still came away feeling like I could still do better. I tried 30ish attempts, and only got 220 points. The art and sounds are a little lacking, but they help with that retro feel.  Super addicting game, top tier!

Developer

Thank you I tried to the art myself this time instead of having the person I had do art last game I made and I used sfxr for the sounds like usual I'm glad you enjoyed

I tried again, and got 640. Before I was trying too hard to kill the spaceships, but when I stopped doing that, I got a lot more points. I think killing the spaceships is way more fun though, so you should be rewarded a lot more for killing them, and a lot less for avoiding mines.

Developer

ok I'll keep that in mind when I update the game a little

Simple and fun ! Tbh, I liked the difficulty how it was, it's hard and makes you want to try again and again (i.e. a greattake on the flappy bird genre!). My only quarrel is that i don't like that you crash on the top of the screen, i'd rather my ship went offscreen in that case because some deaths felt a bit frustrating. Maybe that's part of it? anyways, good job :)

Developer

I made it so you die on the top so you don't jump over the entire game and get infinite points but I might make it a bit more forgiving later and thank you for playing

Developer

ok yeah i replayed and I understand the frustration i'm definitely going to make it more forgiving after the jam

Great game !! Very hard and unforgiving tho. Some more work on some little animations might be nice ? But it’s made in 3 days tho, so great job !!! :D

yeah the difficulty is part of it and also because I played for too long and the people who playtested gave me a small amount of feedback on some parts to make it not unfair but just keep trying I believe in you

I think the gameplay loop is fun, fast,  and has a good skill curve. I agree with some of the observations Lost Disk made but for a three day game, it looks and feels pretty good. With perfect play its definitely possible to keep getting higher and higher scores, which is what ya want out of a game like this.

Great job!

Thank you

Nice simple game but it could definitely use some more polish. Gravity felt extremely heavy making it hard to shoot enemies accurately without jumping into their shots, and precise movement was virtually not an option. Sprites felt a bit rigid, maybe some fire and smoke particles on ships? These are obviously not huge things but just some nitpicks for improvement. Overall, nice work!

Yeah i feel like when I made it I had been playing for a while and got really good at it and I playtested with other people and they said it was good so sorry about the difficulty but also I do plan on trying to fix up the game a little bit and polish the visuals a bit so Thank you for the feedback I tried doing a jam without my usual artist to practice but I could have spent  a  little more time on the art style
