How it fits the Jam Theme: Relationships, Memory, and Musical Feelings
At its heart, "Is this just Checkers?" is all about how a simple, familiar childhood game can become a bridge between people and a source of genuine emotion.
• Chasing the Music Vibe: The official jam track completely inspired our main game mode, «Secret Adventure». The song's mysterious, cozy, and swelling mood guided the whole visual style. We picked a nostalgic, archival color palette with snowy, deep neon tones to perfectly mirror the emotional journey of the music. 🏔️🎶
• Grandpa as a Symbol of Connection: The single-player mode isn't just "Player vs. Computer"—it's a match against Grandpa. We wanted to capture that warm, safe feeling of learning a game from a loved one.
• ** Couch Co-op for Real Emotions:** The «Play with Friend» mode is designed to bring people together in front of one screen. It’s all about creating real-life smiles, playful bantering, and shared joy.
• Maxing out the "Game Juice": To make every move feel satisfying and emotional, we put a lot of love into visual feedback. Seeing the pieces fly into neon flasks and explode into a colorful fireworks show turns every victory into a true, feel-good moment!

🚀 How to Play:
• For Windows (PC): Download the Is this just Checkers.exe file and run it directly. No installation or unzipping needed! Quick and easy. 💻
• For Android (Mobile): Download the Is this just Checkers.apk file to your phone, open it, and install! Now you can challenge Grandpa or play with a friend anywhere you go. 📱
🎮 Controls:
• Mouse & Touch Only: Just use your Left Mouse Button (LMB) on PC or tap the screen on mobile to click through menus, make your bets, change your settings, and move your pieces. 🖱️👇
• Gameplay: Click/tap on your checker, then select a highlighted square to move or jump over an enemy piece.
• Pause: Press P or Esc on keyboard (or simply click the PAUSE button in the corner of the screen) to take a break and check your match stats.
