Design Statement
The theme track evoked different feelings for all of us and we all envisioned different worlds. We blended our individual ideas together to create a cohesive world that holds a special part of all of us within it and embodies our unique viewpoints. Emotion and passion became the baseline for everything we created. A medieval world with magical creatures and runes became the art aesthetic and Silris’ unique creature summons: Behna and Lefey. Science fiction and solarpunk became Makina and her world of Solaria. A windup music box boy and a forgotten storybook became Silris, Ishalda, Sigan, and the overall story. These are just a few ways that we incorporated our ideas while aiming for whimsical art, emotional music, and compelling characters and story.

The art and character designs are amazing!! It fits the storybook aesthetic  of the game very well. The story itself is sweet, although I wish there were more interactive elements to the gameplay. Good job overall!!

Thank you so much for the kind words! We intended to have card combat in between dialogue, but we ran out of time to implement that portion of our game. Unfortunately, a lot of art assets, audio assets, and gameplay mechanics did not make it into the submission before the deadline. I'd love to continue developing the game after the jam is over so everyone can see the hard work everyone put in!
