Design Statement
In Tekalon, players explore a mysterious world overrun by corruption. Rather than fighting enemies, they use a magical artifact to absorb wandering beings and use their energy to restore ancient structures and reveal new paths. Inspired by the sense of wonder and mystery in the theme track, I drew from the surreal feeling of childhood fairy tales, where strange places invite exploration and discovery. My main design goal was to create an atmosphere of curiosity and mystery while tying progression directly to healing and restoration.

Game Instructions (launch steps, controls, and gameplay overview)
Launch the game directly in your browser. Use WASD to move, the mouse to look around, Space to jump, and E to interact with objects in the world. However, the game was designed specifically to use the controller. Controller instructions are listed on the itch io page. As you explore, you'll solve environmental puzzles, learn new traversal mechanics, acquire a mysterious flask, and use its power to absorb wandering beings and clear the corruption blocking your path. Pay attention to your surroundings, as progression often depends on interacting with the environment and uncovering new routes forward. I kept things simple for the game jam. 1 main mechanic, 4 traversal mechanics. 4 rooms to travel and explore.
