Design Statement
In the theme track, the instruments seem to answer each other, one phrase at a time. It made me think of two people far apart, telling a shared memory together under the stars. It is a gift for someone far away.

That became SIDE B: two people who sing one song together across a long distance, sending their voices back and forth on cassette tapes. Every note you sing becomes a step. At first, she sings the first half and you sing the rest. Later, as her voice grows softer, you take the lead and she follows, stepping on the notes you sing.

The game follows the shape of the track. Her notes ring like bells and yours like plucked strings. Each tape adds a new way to sing and a new layer to the music. In the last tape both sides play at once, and as the strings rise, the two of them meet in the middle of the lake.
