Design Statement
We interpreted the theme music through three key elements: the passage of time, the ascending movement of steps, and its gentle, lively atmosphere. Inspired by these elements, we designed a 2D platformer about a princess traveling across different timelines to collect time fragments and rescue a sleeping prince.

The core mechanic revolves around Time Monuments, which allow players to switch between timelines and overcome obstacles. We developed this mechanic progressively throughout the game.

In the early stages, switching timelines reveals different paths, introducing players to the basic mechanic. In the middle stages, multiple timelines become interconnected, requiring players to combine platforming skills with puzzle-solving. Finally, during an intense fire chase, players must strategically activate Time Monuments to travel through time and temporarily stop the advancing flames.

Through this progression, we aimed to transform the musical concept of time into an interactive experience, while reflecting the melody's ascending structure through increasingly complex challenges. Ultimately, our design connects music, narrative, and gameplay through one evolving mechanic.
