Design Statement
Sunrise Needs a Trumpeter is a short platformer that takes about eight minutes to play.

You’re a little trumpet who loves music, and you’ve been dreaming of playing at the sunrise concert. There’s just one catch: you have to get to the mountaintop before dawn.

It’s hard to see the trail at night. Vines keep getting in your way, and strange noises come out of nowhere. Keep going! You’ll meet a friend along the way, and the climb might turn out to be just as memorable as the concert.

Come on, let’s get to the top and play a tune together before the sun peeks over the hills.

Game Instructions (launch steps, controls, and gameplay overview)
Click Start game to play in your browser. On Windows, you can also extract the ZIP and run Sunrise-Trumpeter.exe.

Use A/D or the Left/Right arrow keys to move, Space to jump, and Esc to pause. Tap E to fire a sound burst. Hold E to send a wave farther and reveal the path. Use short and long notes to open vine gates. Once Drum joins you, call to him with your trumpet to solve obstacles together. Reach the summit and play the opening notes for the sunrise concert.

Amazing work! Love how you can pick up companion instrument along the way to add extra interactions. Also really love the art style.

The game is nice. Using sound to illuminate was a great idea.
