Design Statement
To me the theme track felt like a calm breath after a storm, so I built Field of Wings around that feeling. A storm scatters the butterflies from a lakeside garden, and you set out with a net and a field guide to bring them home.

I wanted catching to feel like listening, not chasing. Each of the ten real butterfly species needs its own gentle approach: whistling its rhythm, holding your breath, sneaking up, flashing a mirror, or offering fennel or nectar. Every butterfly is released, never kept.

You start by planting the sanctuary, and it blooms a little more with each butterfly you return, so progress is something you see rather than a score. There are no fail states, so you can take it at your own pace.

Game Instructions (launch steps, controls, and gameplay overview)
Download the zip, extract it, and run the .exe, WASD move · Mouse look · Shift run · Ctrl/C crouch · Space jump · Left Click swing net · F butterfly action · B field guide · Tab map · E interact/release · Esc pause, Plant the sanctuary first. Then check the field guide (B) to learn where the next butterfly is and how to approach it. Catch it with the net, bring it back to the sanctuary and press E to release it. Return all ten to finish.
