This was really cute and fun! I checked out what it was inspired by, I think your team did a great job redesigning it for the jam <3 I think the only thing I would have liked is a "timer" for each of the shops like the original had, for the simple fact of making it easier to figure out timing. I know you comment that you're not good at drawing but I thought the art was really cute, maybe simple but enough to understand what was what. I had to reload the first time I played, I got stuck not being able to move anyone anywhere no matter what I tried, I'm not sure what caused it but closing out/reloading seemed to fix it. I think what y'all made is awesome and I hope you all had a fun game jam <3
no team, just me! the getting stuck thing just seems to Happen Sometimes, which is bad bc i dunno what it's caused by but good bc it doesn't happen every time TwT & a timer is definitely on the list lol
thank u so so much for playing!!!
The visuals were cute! I do wish the icons in general were permanently in view, and I did have some confusion at the start since all the needed info was given all at once, but after getting the hang of things I had no problem playing! I also did not expect an upgrade system, it really added to the game experience, so overall nice job!
thank u so so much for playing!!!
I'm embarrassed to admit that I did not realise right away that the $ sign was clickable, and couldn't work out why everyone was loitering outside the shops once they were done before eventually disappearing! Once I re-read the instructions I ended up having a great time playing! I was really impressed by the upgrade system, which I did not expect at all, and I could picture myself getting super addicted to this if it became one of those frenetic fast clicking trying-to-stay-ahead-of-the-curve type games <3 Sadly, I did end up getting some sort of issue where folks would refuse to leave the queue to get in and couldn 't figure out how to overcome it :( But on the whole, this was fun to play!
That came up a few times in testing and I don't know what in the world is causing it!!! I think there's TWO issues at play, one where the shops are getting stuck and one where the queue is getting stuck, but neither of them have traceable causes... it's quite puzzling.
Thank you so much for playing!! The game that inspired it is linked in the description if you would like to play a very similar game that works better lol
Well, at least it's a known bug, but still - how frustrating to not be able to pinpoint a cause! Nevertheless, I enjoyed what I played, so thank you for the experience :)
This is a really nice and charming game. I do wish that the shop icons just showed instead of having to hover over them.
I couldn't figure out how to incorporate them permanently without them being ugly... although, come to think of it, I could make them floor icons, couldn't I? I should do that next build
TYSM for playing!!
Ohhh this was so fun! Despite what was said on the start menu, I think the art is super charming and I loved watching the customers walk in circle around the mall! If I had to suggest anything, maybe for the pace to be a bit quicker? though that's just a personal preference ^_^
ehehe thank you. I did my best with the greebling and the little top-down portraits of my friends. Pacing is definitely the most unpolished part- I barely got it put together in time for the deadline (thanks to a certain Delt of Rune) so I haven't played it enough to get a head for how the numbers and timing should be balanced yet ^^' definitely going on the improvements list for sure.
tysm for trying it!!!
I really liked this game! I didn't expect the upgrade system at all. It reminds me of those early 2000s restaurant tycoons on PC or Flash. I would've appreciated the bank to also have an icon like the stores, I didn't understand it at first :) Great job!
Thank you so much for playing!! It's basically a recreation of a 2000s flash game that exists, haha. It had the store upgrades, but the littler mechanical ones are an invention of my own, as is the multiple-slots-per-store thing. You're right about the cash register being unclearly telegraphed compared to the rest, I'm putting that at the top of my 'post-jam fixes' list haha
