I like the implementation of the theme of shadow in the game. It is incorporated mechanically into the game and serves a specific function that changes the game itself if the mechanic is changed.. The alchemy aspect is a bit more loose and while I understand the intent, you could change the potion, title of the enemies, or the philosopher stone to basically anything and it would not alter the game. So mechanically it is not important to the game itself. The movement felt painfully slow and it was frustrating to have to constantly spam dash to move quickly. If you are trying to prevent the player from solving the maze too quickly, I would add in some other mechanic that might slow them down or obstacles to hinder progress that adds tension and challenge to the maze itself than to make them move at a crawl speed. I was also unsure how effective the potion was against the shadow enemies as it was hard to tell when I actually hit them with it. Often times the potion would move right through them and it'd do nothing. There was no indicator of effect, so it felt to me that it was pointless to use them and do my best to speed through the maze instead.
Overall I think this is a pretty solid game with what you have here, and the shadow mechanic is clever. Work with that and expand on the story/challenges and you could have a fun game.

The player must navigate towards the center of each maze. If they step on the shadow of an NPC, the NPC turns into a monster and starts chasing the player. The player can get rid of the shadow by throwing a light bomb under it.
Extra Notes
This is my first time in a game jam and I was tight on schedule. I appreciate any sort of feedback.
