Y'ALL COOKED HERE!! This game is just dripping in polish, charm, and funky swagger. There are to many things to list here that I absolutely adored about this game. The evolving music, the starter gun shooting in key with the music, the foley, the SHOCKINGLY intricate animations, the beautiful environmental art, and the evolving level traversal...all fantastic and deeply entertaining.
Someone else here mentioned that they would buy this game on Steam if more dev time is put in to expand on the game, and I cannot agree more. If I saw this for sale for like $15-$20 I would be all over it. Again, y'all were a couple of cats truly cooking for those 96 hours of dev time.
Genuinely, thank you for making this and sharing it in this year's competition. Happy Game Jam!
PS: as someone who spent these past four days developing music for my team's submission, it makes me smile when other teams show a very clear dedication to enriching their game's soundscapes. Great effin' work.
A joy to play! I loved the subtlety of the puzzles, and the style is just, chefs kiss! :D
Nice idea about scaling the player (but I got stuck after first upgrade, want to play more ;c)
I would buy this on steam with a little bit more time. I absolutely love the pixel art and music.
Actual crazy nice pixel art, and the main mechanic is super fun and turns it more into a puzzle game and metroidvania, very cool 10/10
Bro this is such a good game the use of the theme and also using the players gun size it to guide them 10/10
Wow. This is a brilliant interpretation of the theme, love that the guns make you both heavier and larger but also more powerful! The world is also really intuitively designed to prevent players from returning to places they've been to before by altering the size/height of the passageways. Ending was hilarious too, great work!
This game was totally rad 🤘 Loved the music and the pew pew
When I started playing this one I was a bit skeptical as to if the theme was going to show up in a meaningful way. because at first it felt like just navigating a pretty dry maze. Thankfully, once the theme kicked in, the excellent game design choices got to shine.
The pixel art is of course also phenomenal. Seeing the light produced by the bullets cast onto the skeleton's head showed how the artist pays attention to the little things in a way that really elevates the aesthetic in the smallest of places. (I loved the spider on the webs!)
This was fantastic. played it all the way through, and the ending was well worth it
Very nice artwok and "metroidvania" level design. There is a game I don't recall the name now, but was very similar, but will a sword that was ever increasing in size after each run. Was this game an inspiration of some sort?
