Wow you completely nailed the voxel style and THE vibe. I also encountered the bug of not being able to pick up the oxygen rocks but after a restart, all went well and I had fun! Great job!

Woah, I absolutely love the blend of 3D and 2D in the game. This definitely gets a high Style rating from me. The gameplay was quite enjoyable - although, up to the last galaxy, it was quite easy - the difficulty spike on the last galaxy is a bit too high! Still, it was really fun playing it. With some more polish (adding audio, etc.), I believe it would make for a great mobile game. Good stuff! 💖

Good game. Well done!

Loved the concept, and was completely hooked for like half an hour. The visual style is very interesting too. Following is some feedback:

  • A tutorial would’ve been good initially since the UI menus were a bit involved. But I managed to get it by reading the itch page which was also well designed.

  • I think the progression is a bit off because I had to do multiple trips in the first area, and then after a single trip in the second one, I was able to max out all upgrades. But this is always hard to get right in a jam.

  • The bullets feel a bit wonky. I think the whole game just lacks a bit of polish although the core loop is super fun.

  • Initially there was a bug where I couldn’t pick up any of the currency rocks and had to restart.

  • Minor UI bug in the defense upgrade tab; if you use one option, say add new module, then once its done, I can’t select the other option to upgrade it. Instead, I have to come back to the menu and re-enter to get the selection.

  • Some audio and SFX of course would make it really immersive.

Overall, I had fun! I look forward to seeing this improved if you decide to work on it further.

Thank you! I’m glad you liked the game :)

I was planning to add an introduction sequence to explain everything but ran out of time

Same for the progression, but that’s only because I have a terrible sense of priority and set the price for everything at the last moment ’^^

I’ll try to rework the economy and add some sounds and musics once the jam is over

Love the 2D/3D artstyle !

Great game ! The concept is good, style is perfect. However i noticed that enemies can shoot over asteroids, which isn't really optimal. Moreover, it was quite confusing at first i didn't know what to do, so more instructions to where to move would've been good. Menu was also confusing with lots of options. Other than that, everything's good ! Keep up the good work :)

5 star for style, the game looks gorgeous

Rated, and review in dms.

Really love the artstyle and the overal gameplay loop is fun! I did miss some sound fx and music.

The style was really cool, but the theme didn't really come through for me. I also got stuck initially navigating the UI on keyboard, and then again after installing a new defense module. Eventually I found the escape worked, but it wasn't obvious, and it seemed like the arrow buttons should still have worked.

Developer

Yeah there’s a bug in the menu where when you’re in a sub-menu you can’t switch tab until you close it

I don't see the theme besides maybe the scaling of the ship?

I enjoyed:

  • The warp animation, really cool!

Improvements:

  • Music and SFX would have improved the overall experience
  • menu was complex, a lot of options from the get go. Once you understand it, it's all good
  • The upgrade from weapon 1 to 2 really does feels good. 2 to 3 didn't make a huge difference in term of "vibe"
  • Enemies either were not doing anything to me, or killed me way too fast. I should have upgrade my defense a lot I think.

Thanks for the feedback!

For the theme I didn’t interpret “scale” literally as in size but more like by upgrading your ship you are “scaling up” your power and you can fight stringer ennemies. Not to most direct interpretation for sure but that’s the way I got inspired

Also yeah if you don’t upgrade your defense enough you’re gonna get killed instantly, I thing for the purpose of the jam not allowing the player to respawn was a big mistake on my part

The voxel is awesome! althought is a bit odd to see it mixed with pixel art for similar elements (the player and the enemies for example). The progression scaled to wickly I think, It take me like 5 or 6 travel to get oxystone for the 2nd destination but there i could get enough to buy everything in the store with one travel. And when i get to the final location I die in less than a minute. But overall I had fun, its a very well executed game. Congrats!

Thanks!

Mixing voxel and pixel art was an experiment for me, honestly I kinda like the way it turned out

And yeah the game could definitely use some balancing for sure

Nice one! I liked it!

Though it took me some time to understand how to huperjump)

Thanks for the feedback!

I added a screenshot to the description to hopefully make it clearer

Nice game! The enemies in the third galaxy are quite insane so that's as far as I got.

Also, I encountered a minor bug: when entering a galaxy, there is a small chance that you'll spawn between a bunch of asteroids and be completely unable to move or rotate. If that happens, you can free yourself by travelling back to the space station and returning.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah the last galaxy is a bit unfair especially if you don't have all your defense modules max level

I liked the art style. keep it up

Thanks :)

I love the look of this game! Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there's a bug or I'm just dumb but I can't seem to figure out what to do. I can fly around and visit the shop and shoot missiles but no enemies ever seem to spawn or anything. Please let me know how to play so I can test it haha!

Developer(+1)

On the last tab of the space station you can select a destination to travel to (you have only one unlocked at the start)

I'll update the description of the game to make it clearer

Turns out it's pretty fun too! Love the animations!

Great game art. Not so much sold on the very straightforward interpretation of the theme. But it's still a good game, especially considering the time. Keep it up :)

Developer(+1)

Originally I had an idea that fitted the theme better where your ship could scale supper big or supper small and at each size you would be fighting / collecting different things but I didn't went for it because I felt like if wasn't adding much in term of gameplay compared simply  travelling between biomes
Thank for playing :)
