This is magical, sending love 🌟
The style, the idea and the execution are all great. Fishing difficulty close to real, especially on a trackpad. At first didn't realise you don't touch purple orbs, and there was also an issue of it not letting me out of the fishing screen once. But it's lots of fun! Great job on the art and all the work put into customers and items. Easily one of my favourite entries :)
Thank you for your very kind post! We're happy you had fun playing our game!
Very fun concept and art! I loved trying to figure out what armor everyone wanted to try and get the most money while saving my materials. After a while the mini game does get a bit repetitive, I would love to see some variation there or different obstacles/conditions to catch the fish depending on the type of bait you use. Overall though great work, this was fun!
Thank you! We agree that the fishing minigame did not get as much love as it could have, but we really wanted to focus on making the shop part really fun and interesting. So yeah, the fishing part is definitely an easy part for improvements!
Lovely art style, and the concept of building custom armor is really interesting. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
i love the artstyle and concept, which is a very unique take on the theme, and the game is extremely well polished as well. but the lack of music or even some small sound effects and the difficult fishing minigame are small cons. and i know theres another link to a better version, but im gonna write this review then check it out so that its not biased.
oh and i literally didnt realise that the purple ones arent to be collected before i read one of the comments in this game. so u should probably mention that in your tutorial as well
All that is already on the to-do list! Thanks for your feedback still, it really helps us.
The main reason for all these issues is very simple: Time (as usual). We literally submitted the game 5 seconds before the countdown ended. I don't think my heartrate was this high in a long time. We obviously regret not finishing earlier, but it wasn't really possible for us, considering the other work we still had over the weekend and start of the week.
But: We made a game! And that's what really counts for us. We're really proud of the game, and we really like the concept, even if the implementaion isn't flawless.
yea the concept is really unique and great, and i do agree what matters is that u guys were able to submit something. but HOLY 5 SECONDS BEFORE!? thats crazy close
Beautiful and elaborate art, sadly somewhat taken away from by the fiendishly difficult fishing mini game (because of which I can’t progress beyond my first armour). A shame - this game is very pretty :-)
We know! And we feel the same. That's why if that's your only "complaint", if you want you can check out this updated version, where the minigame is a lot simpler: https://yanwittmann.de/game/GMTK2024/gmtk2024
Thank you for playing!
really nice entry! great art and feel, interesting mechanics that fit the theme well
This looks sooo fascinating! Your interpretation of the theme is very clever, good job! Congrats on finishing this game!
Thank you! We had a lot of fun making it as well. Finishing the game was a big topic for us, seeing how we submitted the game with literally 5 seconds left on the clock, but hey, we made it!
