How does your game fit the theme?
Calm before the storm is the theme. You have a "calm" period where you need to set up your base before waves of enemies come. When calm period ends the "storm" begins and enemies attack.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes

A tower defence game where the vulnerable base moves is an intriguing concept, and I had a lot of fun with it here! I loved the opening cutscene as well - however, I think putting the turrets on such a long timer was a bit harsh - I'd often be kind of screwed if the based moved in an unfavourable position. Perhaps you could destroy one and you'd reduce the timer to be able to purchase another one? (So that you can't just place turrets wherever you want without cost)
Otherwise, great job!
that's a pretty good call for balancing, thank you so much for the feedback! and thank you for giving our game a shot!! i do agree that the turret timers could be fixed a bit; depending on how the team feels it might be something we fix post-jam!
interesting gameplay and i really love the aliens and our radio robot friend :D
This is a lot of fun. I restarted the game several times to try different strategies. The fact that the base moves adds to the challenge. Overall well done!
It's cute and funny! I have enjoyed building rambling roads for the enemies till the Victory.
I understand the reasson to move the base each turn, maybe I would add some player control or knowing about it! Pathfinding works fine but I'm not sure whats happening when you close all available paths, creeps seems to disapear sudenly. (?)
Thank you for the experience, and amazing job dudes. Keep rocking!
I like it! The intro and outro were cool, and you obviously had a lot of fun making the sound effects haha. Especially the monster uggggghhhs, that made laugh out loud more than once! I always say you can really tell when a dev loved working on their game, and I can definitely tell you did with this one!
I like tower defense games where you have to reroute enemies, and moving the base was an interesting twist!
What I did not like was the fact that the turret placing is on a timer. I guess it's an interesting concept, rewarding stalling out your enemy for as long as possible, but it's also just very easy for the player to end up being punished for not saving enough money to place the turret on cooldown. It would maybe be better tied to certain wave numbers, and I think that should make balancing easier on you guys too. Right now, it must be very hard to estimate the strength of a player a certain amount of minutes in!
thank you for the kind words and the feedback! we did really try to push for a not-so-typical tower defense game, i'm glad we had a lot of elements in our game that contributed to that.
i'm seeing that we have a few complaints regarding the turrets, i sort of agree that the timers for respawning a new turret feel a bit too lengthy. both the type of turret as well as the location is very much RNG, on some runs you're guaranteed to have a victory whereas on others (as you said) the player might be punished a bit too hard. to combat this we added wall placement and enemy path manipulation, though i can definitely see where some faults may lie in that too. regardless, thanks so much for giving our game a shot! hopefully we can implement your feedback in future!
Pretty fun and much more strategic than I initially thought. Good game!
Astounding graphics & gameplay, really love it. Now it's ur turn to try & rate us.

Thank u :)
Great game, the screaming audio was unexpected but funny, and there was quite some strategy involved despite the limited towers. I think that more time to prepare should be given, while speeding up the storm period by a bit, since players cannot do anything during that time anyways.
Very cool game, the art is amazing, gameplay is quite fun, great job! :D
What a pretty game. Had I been in that situation I would've probable let the cute aliens inside immediately xD Great fun too!

I love how you have highlighted the path the enemies are going to take, makes the random location more of a challenge rather than a frustration. Coupled with the updating pathfinding you have a fun little tower defense game, some great polish too with those cutscenes and sounds. Amazing work!
thank you so much!!
Woah, that opening cutscene was insane! What system in unity did you use to do it?
Loved the art! The random placement and movement were a little frustrating because I had to keep selling things to afford new walls and the path would disappear before I could sell everything.
switched to one scene to play the video- once detected that the video was done, switched to another scene
thank you so much for the kind words and feedback!!
Oh nice, so it was a video that you made outside of unity instead of doing it in Unity itself?
yep!! i made the videos in camtasia (you could just make/edit a video in any editor for this though), then saved it as an mp4 and got our programmer to add it in. i imagine you could make similar cutscenes with 2D assets in unity though!
The graphics, sound and overall presentation is great. The random turrets and base moving around felt weird at first but once you get upgrades and enough to build a bunch of walls it clicks.
Really cool tower defense style game! I loved the world you designed around it with cool lore elements being broadcast by the radio throughout the game. Great work!
I totally loved that game! I beat it on the first try:)
It was so much fun playing it. I think it has a lot of potential and I hope you keep developing it. Good luck with everything!
thanks so much!!! we'll see how we go post-jam :]
Great game, had a blast playing it! I think there was a lot of satisfaction that came from being able to reroute enemies during the wave phase. You can watch the VOD to see how I reacted: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2252577785?t=00h23m45s
thanks again for trying our game out on stream!!!
Pretty fun game, but some of the visuals didn't quite land for me. Quite a good time though, great job!
I LOVE this game. The opening cutscene and artstyle is peak. Random turret placement mechanic feels bewildering at first but once you get what the game is about it becomes a ton of fun.
My first fortress fell, but with my second fortress only one character died (rest in peace Samantha 😔). Turrets feel good at first but this game has opened my eyes to the fact good defensive fortifications truly are the deciding factor of a conflict more than any turret, regardless of the era. Great work
thank you for playing our game and thanks so much for the kind words!!
Well done! I like tower defence and the pathfinding and making a better path was a nice core concept. It was a bit annoying how the base moved but I guess thats necessary to get the path-part of the game to be as fun as it was. The only thing I wish was different was how loud the "BLEUGH!" sound effect was, I heard it a ton :D.
Great art, good music, good animations and overall well polished! Would be fun with more turrets.
Great job guys!
thanks so much for trying out game out!! i do agree that the sfx get a bit loud, sorry about that </3
