Everything apart from some of the audio (and font) were made by me all from scratch.

i absolutely love the mechanics and difficulty, this is one of my favorite games in the jam for sure!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed!

I like the unique mechanic with sticky to walls. I have never seen that before. But i find the game kinda hard and unforgiving. For example when the zaps are intreduced the timeframes inwhich I have to activate them are pretty small. Maybe I just not the target audience xD. But overall the game looks very polished and the movement is very smooth.

Developer

It's definitely supposed to be very difficult, but unforgiving was not what I was going for. Sorry about that. Wish I could've fleshed out the difficulty curve better. Thank you for the kind words though and I'll be sure to see what I can do to make the game more accessible after the game jam is over. Thanks for playing!

Fun, pretty challenging game, nice visuals. Too difficult for me ^^,

Developer

Thank you very much for playing :D I understand the difficulty curve right now is pretty steep. After the game jam period, I might go back and ease out the difficulty curve to let people learn more before trying the hard stuff. Glad you liked it though!

I love the colour palette of this game, along with really tight controls and screen transitions you have a sweet little platformer here. Only problem being I suck at platformers so didn't even get to the storm bit! xD The amount of polish on the controls speaks volumes amazing work!

Developer

Thank you very much for the kind words. I wish I had more time to make more levels to ramp the difficulty slower and give the player time to adapt, but with the allocated time I struggled. I'm still glad you enjoyed it even if it was too difficult. Appreciate it!

Astounding world building, really love it. Now it's ur turn to Try & vote us.

Ah, don't forget to check this one https://whackyfear.itch.io/love-honorable-torch thank u :)

Developer(+1)

Not exactly sure what world building you're talking about...

Sorry for the misunderstanding, so the world building I'm referring to here is the overall concept of the game, a very unique game, and I like that. ;)

Developer(+1)

Ah for sure. Thanks for playing and glad you like it :D

Really great game. The movement felt good. Took me a while to find out you can wall slide. I couldn't however beat the level where you get the dash wall slide up dash and then get to the spring. Kept dying.

Developer

Damn you were so close. I think that was one of the final screens, but I get that the scaling is pretty brutal. (Also definitely should have made a wall climb tutorial. Ran out of time). Thank you very much for the kind words though! Appreciate it

Submitted

Oh really. I might give it another try. Really reminds me of celeste. Assuming you went for that feel. The zaps being the crystals. Maybe some wind mechanics could be added :)

Developer(+1)

Definitely haha. I love celeste, and was doing my best to capture that same feel without also feeling like a straight copy. I hope you try it again! I really do like the ending of the game, even if it really basic. Wind mechanics might be in the works soon hehe. Thinking about how to make it more fun and less annoying though lol

Super smooth, polished game. You can be very proud of this one! I took some time to adjust to the responsiveness of playing a platformer like this on a keyboard. Gravity felt maybe slightly too strong for me (not sure on this), really requiring you to react very fast on all the falls. Maybe turning it down a smidge might make it slightly more accessible. But that's obviously preference, and maybe that's just me getting old :).

Developer

I appreciate the kind words and the feedback. I'll definitely playtest the physics a little more after the game jam period ended to see what feels nicer. Thanks for playing!

The controls feel really nice, and I dont say that about a lot of submitted platformers.

Cute pixel art, loved the game.

10/10 would become slimy boi spiderman again

Developer

Super glad you liked it! Thanks for checking it out :D

Great controls! Not usually a fan of platformers but liked how yours played. The wall climb mechanic is great!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm super glad my game was accessible to people who don't usually play platformer. I was worried the difficulty might scare a lot of people unfamiliar with the genre off. Glad you enjoyed!

I'm glad those little one ways I added last minute were appreciated by someone haha. While game testing, accidental screen switching were a real common occurrence so I had to do something about it. Was fairly late in the project though and couldn't flesh anything better out. Thank you for the kind words. Appreciate it immensely!

Really fun game! It felt super polished and there were loads of levels :) I also made a platformer in Godot I would love if you checked it out :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad there were enough levels to feel like a full experience :D Enjoyed your game as well

I like the art.  The slime character is kinda cute.  And even though I died a few times I wanted to keep playing.

Developer

You wanting to keep playing makes me happy with the difficulty scaling. A big worry was it being annoyingly hard. Thanks for enjoying!

I love the color palette, especially once you are able to zap and the storm starts! I could definitely tell when the storm starts how much harder the game got, in a good way! The zap mechanic is really unique. It took me a few levels to realize I could move up and down when on a wall but there was a level that forced me to figure that out and it was great. Good job!

Developer

Super glad you enjoyed. Thanks for playing!

Awesome game, art is very stylish and so is the audio, level design is quite clever! I really enjoyed it, I guess this jam brings together a lot of Celeste and SMB fans, including me. Really great game!
P.S. You can try our game, I think you'll like it, if you are a fan of hard platformers)

Developer

Tried yours and had a lot of fun with it! Thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed!

Love the visuals and how you implemented the zap mechanic to go along with the theme! My only issue was on one screen where if I died while holding right, I would immediately run off a ledge upon respawning. Though it was a mild issue and doesn't take away from how great this game feels to play!

Developer

Damn I wish I caught that by playtesting. I actually had a similar issue where on death people would run off to the left and go back a screen, and that resulting in the little one ways behind each respawn location. Still, glad you enjoyed and thanks for the review!

I absolutely loved the color palette and visuals; they were vibrant and captivating. The gameplay itself was fun and engaging, keeping me entertained throughout. With a bit more time and expansion, I can easily see this evolving into a much larger and even more immersive experience. It’s bursting with potential

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words. As someone who just started making games, it means the world to me knowing my work is being enjoyed. Glad you liked it!

The platforming and movement felt really tight and good. Very well polished and great game overall! Just my type.

Developer

The movement feeling good makes me glad. Thanks for playing!

What the heck is your keyboard layout??? xD wqsd? anyway loved the wall being sticky, loved the blob and levels, great submission well done! :)

Developer

I wish I had the time to implement key binds to make the controls a little more... customizable. I had both WASD and arrow key controls due to the fact that I prefer arrow keys and everyone else in the world prefers WASD lololol. Glad you enjoyed though!

Submitted

Oh damnit forgot to think about the arrow keys, sorry! :/ no need to customize it, just maybe show the keys at start or something. Couldn't figure out haha. My keyboard is AZERTY which uses ZQSD not WASD :p

After126 Deaths i finally my body made it finally home. Took me a while to figure out (or maybe i forgot) that i can dash through spikes.  Great Game! Most fun game i played so far!

P.s. Try our platformer i think you may like it

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you had a lot of fun! I can tell from your entry you guys are a fun of difficult platformers haha. Thanks for playing!

Submitted

Preatty cool game, it reminds me to celeste. The only thing that i don't really like is that when you dash it instantly starts falling without time to react.

Developer

Damn that was a worry of mine in development. I added a little upward velocity post dash to rectify it but I guess it still wasn't enough. Thanks for playing the game though!
