Game Description
Stack randomly spawned blocks, as high as you can. Admittedly thrown together in the last weekend after realising I was no where near completing my original idea

How does your game tie into the theme?
The end goal is to build a tower, as high as possible

My Highscore :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! That's the best score I've seen on and offline apart from my own so well done :)

very nostalgic game, takes me back to my childhood. i loved it! the physics we're pretty solid and i actually enjoyed the fact that you can stabilize your tower while dragging a block, it saved me so many times. great work!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed being able to interact with other blocks using the grabbed block, it was a difficult decision whether to leave that in or not

Nice soundtrack
I like that I can move the stacked blocks.
The gravity of the blocks is a bit weird.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Being able to nudge the blocks did help me out so many times, I'm happy you liked it

tower stacking is a tried-and-true concept, pre-dating video games, and being fairly prevalent (at least for me) during the Flash era. this is that, but with Godot physics, which unfortunately is still a bit janky, it hurts me to admit. i also don't like the fact that the tower is physically affected by the block that i'm dragging before i've even dropped it. i think having it only collide with the tower once dropped would've been better. anywho, it's a simple concept done right. nothing too fancy, not too bad at all. good job! please consider trying my game as well!

Developer

Thanks for playing, yep it was fun playing with the Godot's physics settings to see how good I could get it, it was way worse before I got into the advanced settings, I started working on getting some sort of freezing on blocks out of view, I just ran out of time getting it to then return the blocks to the physics solver at the right time.

Of course I'll play your game, I make a rule of trying out every game from anyone who comments :)

I love Tricky Towers; this reminded me a bit of that experience! It was fun, well done, clean to play. Nice work.

It is a simple yet effective and very enjoyable game! I liked the simplicity of the gameplay, and that you just build a tower with the blocks you had as a kid, and just like back in the day it was loads of fun! I agree with the other comment that said this is a game made for leaderboards, but I would also want to see more game modes, maybe designed levels with limited blocks, a free play mode with leaderboard, and maybe a competitive with time? You can easily expand this concept, but nonetheless nice work :D

Thanks for playing! Yep it was those wood building blocks I was thinking of when making it. Totally agree, loads of possibility to expand it

Nice work!  This is definitely a game that needs a leaderboard.  I'm sure someone will top my 498 but it's always fun being the high score, even if it's only briefly.  Definitely curious what your first idea but excellent pivot, it turned out well.

Developer

Thanks for playing! A leader board would be great! I started looking into it but a bit too late to implement so who knows, maybe for my next game

Nice and fun lil game, my high score was 394!
It would be nice if there were some menus or more textures to the blocks, but otherwise good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! It is a little limited because I put it together at the last minute after my first plan fell apart,

will I learn from this experience and do better at planning? Probably not tbh :)
