I really liked that! Yes, it was super easy to get lost, but I didn't mind because the map was so small. My only real gripe was that the jump just felt a little tedious with how precise it was. I'm not sure if there was coyote time or not, but it could help make it feel a little more forgiving on that front. That being said, the pace of getting you back into playing on any fall into death was so snappy, I really didn't mind much. You were back at it and exploring quickly.

Nice job!

As others have said, the vibes are immaculate, with my only concern being that it's easy to get lost.  A map would be a great addition, maybe something hand-drawn by the character to also flesh out the character's thoughts as you find the sins.  Or maybe some stationary torches that you can light with your torch so you know you've been to a specific point. Had a good time with this one, good work!

Thanks for the feedback!

Great visuals and music! Yet controls are a bit hard for me, especially for a platformer - was too easy to fail a jump and be forced to the tedious come-back.. Also, a kind of mini-map would help - I lost track at some point and even felt that I was allowed to go down where previously it was considered a restart pit. That was a bit confusing.

Very good looking game and nice atmosphere.

The level design was pretty good, although I got a bit lost sometimes because the checkpoints were a bit too far and disorienting from the place I fell down.

I think the movement could need some work, the character falls very fast once he reaches the apex so it feels very stiff and "springy", for example the way to cross a large gap is actually to jump the highest possible to compensate for the fast falling movement.

I don't think the movement is poorly designed or "feels bad" per se, however it does feel somewhat at odds with what you were going for. A slow moving character who's going deep into themselves should probably have overall slower vertical movement, for example. Though this specific solution is subjective, I think that keeping in mind that in a platformer, the way a character moves actually tells you a lot about its personality and can evoke specific feelings will help you a lot when making this kind of atmostpheric / narrative platformers. The slow horizontal speed, for example, was a nice touch.

The sound design and atmosphere works, although I would say the soundsteps repeating always in the same sequence got a bit repetitive after a while.  Maybe randomize them a bit ?

Anyway, great game, I just wanted to give some constructive feedback, hope it's useful !

Hey thanks for playing and the detailed feedback! :)

Gameplaywise, there was a point in developement that we thought of making the character lighter as they removed the "sins" but we figured that it would make the game to easy at a point, maybe we should had reviewed the jumping movement

Regarding the steps, I usually use quite few step samples, since I wasn't going for realistic stuff, this time I only used 2 and did a random pitch on those, thought it would be enough to fake it, I guessed wrong xD

Excellent game! The reflection platforming was a great idea!

I only have one criticism, and that is the hit boxes; they could have been a little smaller. Felt unfair when you barely touched the red orbs and died, but all in all, I had fun playing it! :)

Really liked this! Impressed at how much you all got done in the time, it's a pretty sizeable map, and I loved the hand-drawn art. The jumping mechanic felt good. The story maybe needed fleshing out a little but there's only so much you can get done in the time span!

Nicely done

Good job, I really liked the atmosphere!

Very nice work! I can tell that attention was paid to the atmosphere, and that made it feel better to walk around in the game's world. I had to stop at the third mirror as one of the 'keys' did not respawn after dying. Overall, very nice. Congrats on the submission!

I really liked the core mechanic of this game. The sound design was great and allowed the immersion to be on point.

There were a few bugs I ran into though on the reflection levels. The door seemed to open sometimes without me collecting all the lights, and sometimes when I collected all the lights the door wouldn't show. One level in particular I collected a light, and when I respawned, the light was missing, and I had to restart the game to complete the level. It looks like this is every team member's first or second jam, and this is extremely polished for that experience level. Great work!
