such an impressive presentation from the fading boxes to taking advantage of the darkness in the plot. very smart move to weave them together :0 i'm not well versed in the referenced legends, but the writing really put in the weight of your choices to reflect how the MC and Apollo's relationship forms by the end in the endings!! amazingly cohesive and ELEGANT all around!!
Sunblind is a Greek tragedy to its core – to suggest that exercising the power to choose is itself hubris is cutting, tragic, and fitting for a CYOA VN. Also, Apollo Daddy : )
This was simply so well written! I absolutely loved the dialogue between the Oracle and Apollo. The description for each vision were also so vivid! Also the UI and floating elements played in so well with the whole story, amazing work!
I loved this short and sweet game! Finally getting the Apollo ending was so satisfying!
This was so beautiful. Lowkey thought I got the wrong ending and then Apollo is like, damn you're wild and beautiful why are you stuck here so that was like AHHHH and good I was a wise little bean. But like it's so pretty and I made the decisions I would of made in the story and 10/10 like, glad we didn't throw ourselves off the cliff.
The writing was SO GOOD. The descriptions were so vivid, and the frustrations of the character felt so real. I like the question this game presents and how each choice and the sheer difficulty of those choices lead to answering that question. Massive props to the team for being able to convey such a heavy story in such a short amount of time
That's a simple yet stunning UI !! I spent ages turning the sliders up and down in the menu to watch it, and even smaller things like the light flickering of the textbox graphics and the smoke effect ugh so good!!
I fear I fall almost completely outside of the demographic of classic mythology enjoyer, but even with that the choices and outcomes of toying with fate were interesting to read! Meddling gods (And in this case, their oracle) is always an interesting premise.
Personally, I found the use of the black background and some simple graphics in the background to still be effective narratively and also scope wise for a game jam ! That's really clever. Even without visuals, the descriptions and writing made it so easy to suspend my disbelief. Great work guys :]
Um hello blond man with immense power, an attitude, and deep issues tm... No, no it's alright you can call me "pet" all you want :)))). But for realsies what a treat, an absolute pleasure to play--really came out of the woodworks to bless us mortals with a stunning sun god who is NOT afraid of giving and getting some harsh reality checks. What a beautiful scene at the end, has me scrambling to go listen to Liz Calloway's performance of Meadowlark to feel something...
(And not to be brainrotted to all hell but we were all thinking Apollo needed more lines in God Games... Right?... Right????)
it is so terrible, egregious, and awful…that you’ve made me fall head over heels for a greek god who could easily throw me aside who in fact does during the bad ending and YET…is so sweet to his oracle that i’m like okay so like maybe maybe maybe? also the kiss scene HELLO? this game was an absolutely divine treat; the level of polish, detail, and quality of writing truly blew me away for a game made in four days!
sunblind was just the thing to tide me over during that long wait for the next epic: the musical saga, except now i’m way too overly invested in the delightful romance between a blind oracle who can only behold their divine captor/patron/unbalanced dynamic-y love interest >_< the ending really kept me in suspense – i’ll be pondering on the possibilities for a long while. i really had fun playing!
