I am thinking of taking another shot at making a racing game, since my last one from 2023 wasn't the best. Here is the link to the 2023 attempt, simply named Race Demo 2: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/857087380/
As you can see in the thumbnail of this post, this concept has over double the layout options as the last concept from 2023 (which I have since named Ascot Arena), is over 4 times the area, and has pits, which can mean endurance races, which can mean a fully fledged career mode. Yes, that's right. I want to make a racing game with a full career mode, which means I need to brainstorm car ideas (As I can't get licenses to use real models) as well as more tracks with lots of variety, such as rally and street racing.
But hold your horses, I still have to MAKE the game first of course, and I will probably have to make components I have never tried before. In other words, I am still on square one of this monumental project, and it could take years to finish. Maybe once I figure out 3D, I can model Ascot Arena and Helsing Park Raceway into 3D (Those thin walled bits on both tracks are meant to be the parts on mountains, a bit like that section on Mt Panorama, aka Bathurst). However, a downside to this is that it can lengthen development time, as I would have to readjust the code to fit in a 3D environment instead of a 2D environment. Never mind the fact that this project will start on SCRATCH since I cannot afford Unity, and a new computer is at least a month away, so therefore cannot use Godot. Yeah.
I seriously hope I can see this project through, as I have so many ideas for it and how they can fit together. I seriously don't want another Yandere Simulator situation where I keep adding and adding features, and having the game never be done. I want to make this, finish this, and then release it.
So what is the plan? Well, I am not going to set deadlines just yet, as due to a flaw in my personality, if I miss it, I will lose all motivation and ditch the project. However, there MAY be a concept or two released by the end of the year.
Will I get help? One of my weak points is communication and teamwork. I much prefer to work alone and create the vision I want to make, as I feel if I introduce more people, they will start to deviate from the original vision of the game, and can radically change it. This isn't a complete no, as the workload will eventually get to a point where it becomes too much and the burden of the project will consume my life, yet I cannot ditch it as it will be too big and complete, and I will just feel empty and miserable.
What about funding? As the concepts of the game become bigger, and the game itself becomes more complete, at some point I will need to put a price tag to keep the project afloat. Nothing in life is free, of course. But it will start out free, and will stay free until that point comes. I am not saying anything about donating as that is fully up to you.
Who is this? I am Rueben, but you usually see me online as Memesbro, which is a name I made when I was 11. I turn 18 in a few months, which may ring alarm bells to this being a sham, but I promise it is not.
Isn't this just Gran Turismo but planned to be made by a single person? Uhhhhh..... On the outside and in its eventual most primitive state, yes. But I plan on adding more to it and making the game its own thing. But it may seem like that at the start
With all that said, thank you for taking the time to read this. I will tell you if I decide to go through with the project, after which I will make updates to the project, and any delays that may take place.

Since you can't really see the banner, here is the concept of Helsing Park.
