  • The game is really fun and competitive! I love the music and the art was simple yet fit in so well! I really enjoyed the game where going full speed ahead does not necessarily guarantee you a victory. It is really great that you included a score board. It lets people to get competitive and push further! Everything about this game reminded me one of those rhythmic arcade games! Each level has different mechanics. The game had quite a variety of different enemy attacks! There is just a small issue that the upgrade part was a bit confusing and some of the upgrades didn't feel like they did anything. The game design document was great, clear to understand, and seeing your tough process illustrations help to visualize what the plan was for the game. I just would like to see if there are any plans for further development! Love the game! Keep on going!

Summarise your game!
Boss-Rush Style Game. Control Scheme is based around the player orbiting Planets (Bosses). No story as such (other than playing as a World-Destroying Alien Ship).
Includes 15 Unique Bosses, an Interesting Movement System, an Upgrade System designed around easy respeccing and experimentation and Online Leaderboard.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You Play as an Alien Hooked into a Ship which is a World-Destroying Weapon.
From Itch.io page - "Maybe you're an integrated organism that pilots a world destroying gun"

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
How did you find the Pacing/Difficulty Progression of the Game?
The game is supposed to be hard, but I wanted the first few levels to be accessible to players of many skill levels.

This is really fun! I am a big fan of bullet hells so this is a no brainer for me. Love that circular path though it's really quite unique and such a change of pace. The music, graphic, UI and upgrades are very polished. The game is super smooth too! Well done!

I do need to admit that I died to the 7th boss quite a few times, and feels like the satellite healing the boss is quite unfair, and I don't think you can get enough DPM to even out pace that thing. (Sure you can destroy the satellite, but then they can just spawn more.

Anyway, I like this game very much! Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed.

A few people have said bosses 7, 8, 9 are quite challenging for them. I'm going to release an updated version once voting has completed.

This game was a lot of fun to play. The core gameplay loop of rotating your ship around a radius and having stat upgrades is a very creative take on the traditional asteroids formula. The inclusion of a leader board really got me hooked and wanting to play more. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for the praise!

Happy to hear you like the core gameplay loop and leaderboard

I was surprised by the amount of patterns and attacks you have for the bosses. Amazing job!

Developer

Thanks! I spent a lot of time coding different attacks.

Wow, this was a lot better than I've expected. I don't like space theme AT ALL but this one felt good. The game got me addicted. I lost to #7 and got 6K score. Simple mechanics but yet so well done and attack variation was awesome. I discovered that you can expand/collapse your circle only on #4 or so. Overall the game feels great, the art, the music, the SFX, the VFX - everything. There isn't a single thing I can recommend for improvements. It feels like nice, polished game. Great work!

Great to hear you enjoyed my game despite reservations about the setting.

I spent the final 35% of the Game Jam on polish/balancing, so I'm glad it showed in the final product.

I love this game, I didn't realize till late in that I could move in and out and shrink the circle, thats me not being able to read haha. I love the different boss mechanics, The phase shift dodge ability felt like it wasn't clear I wasn't taking damage? I don't have a suggestion of what would need to change for that, but its probably some kinda game feel thing and nothing to do with the mechanic itself. The combat was super fun, the music was great, awesome awesome game!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback.

I agree that the phase boost ability is a bit unclear - especially when the camera zooms out a bit on some levels. Maybe I could play a SFX for when you negate/dodge damage? It's quite a hard one to solve.

Happy to hear you had fun playing my game!

Super fun and polished game! I was so locked in I didn't realize I had been playing for like 25 minutes before beating the game (currently 2nd on the leaderboard not to brag). Lots of variety in upgrades, enemies and visuals made it interesting to keep going. Also impressed with the UI it was really clean and fit the aesthetic nicely

Developer

Thanks a bunch! Glad you enjoyed.

A difficult and fun bullet hell game. being locked in the planets orbit makes navigating the obstacles interesting and the different attack patterns of each planet were unique and fit the space theme. I especially thought that the asteroid from the edge of the screen was a surprising change of pace from the all planet centered attacks.

Thank you for the feedback!

I wanted each boss to be unique and pose a different challenge. I found that a lot of levels you could just hug the outer edges of the orbit to get an advantage. The meteor showers were designed to counter that strategy.

Very cool game concept, circular UI elements make me happy C: The aesthetic feels clean and reminds me of the SC2 campaign

Developer

Cheers! Glad you liked the aesthetic.

Really cool! I loved zooming around, and the visuals were on point. Also the sound effects were really crisp. My brain doesn’t like going left and right and such when I’m on the top half, so that’s the challenge for me, lol.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!

Yes, my brain doesn't like the left/right switch on top. When I play I always like to hug the bottom of the screen, and then move up the sides if I have to.

Cool game! Impressive visuals and sound design and a great concept with the semi-fixed movement.

Developer

Thank you! Happy to hear you liked the visuals - it's an aspect I often struggle with.
