- Wow, this was your first jam?? It was extremely well done. I'm glad you left the comment as well. It helped me get things started. I really enjoyed my playthrough. There's a lot of great elements to it. It absolutely has the Double Dragon vibe and I'm here for it! I thought the music was on point. Even the splash screen leading to the main menu was a great touch. I also liked the progressive leveling system and being able to choose which of the three upgrades I wanted to use. I agree with another comment you made that balancing is difficult. I think you're on the right track though based on everything I saw in your GDD, which was also well written. I really hope you all continue developing this game. I would definitely give it a try again. Congrats on your first jam and completing an entry! I hope we get to see you all around on more jams!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes
Summarise your game!
Fun easy movement with a progressive levelling system. Plays well on both controller and M & K.
Story is in the write up on the gamepage.
Please enjoy
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
It fits it well in the literal sense, you mutated into the weapon they designed, they just never thought it would turn against them
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Just enjoy as much as we did making it, and please remember we are all new to this

Thank you everyone and you, Judge - for all your wonderful comments and feedback. It truly warms our hearts :) This was only meant to be for the jam, but the fact someone hopes we continue development is enough for me to raise that question to the team.
I think it may be a resounding yes, but lets just wait and see. Massive thanks, see you all real soon!
I am one of the developers on the project. While I'm thrilled we were able to get something in for our first jam it is also fair to say it's not quite there yet. With that being said if you do try our game and want to experience at least some of what was intended here is some important notes to make your experience less rocky.
1- At the insert credit screen click on the window and then push the space bar. That should fire the loading sequence.
2- There are 2 points in the main room that cause enemy guards to spawn. If you walk to the far side of either end of the main room you'll be prompted with an arrow. Use the "E" key/"X" button to move to the next room. These side rooms didn't get completed so immediately turn back and head back into the main room. By room switching you've reset the guard spawners so now you can get more guards to spawn.
3- Use the ranged attack (right-click/"F"/Right Bumper) to help you close gaps on enemies. The ranged attack will cause drag to the enemies hit while not slowing the player down.
4- Use the melee attack (left-click/"R"/Right Trigger) to kill. The melee attack does more damage however it not only slows enemies who are hit by it but also slows the player while swinging.
Really great, but it seems like I'm just getting beaten up
Thanks for the feedback! Balancing is hard we found out hahaha! I added some tips in the comments section if you wanted to give it another go.
