- The Life of a Tower was a cozy feeling tower defense game, which sounds a lot weirder than it ended up feeling! The music started about 2 minutes into gameplay, rather than when the level began, but the mood was immaculate. I found myself rooting for the minions as they ran around trying to avoid harm, defending them with all my effort! This experience captured the feeling of being a weapon with the payoff of providing a shield. Super neat. Along with the music, the art style is reminiscent of a few late 90s, early 2000s titles from websites like Newgrounds and EbaumsWorld. I felt the scenario could do with a little storyline, even if that storyline is about how these gnomes accidentally constructed a protector from sticks and spittle. Upgrades and point mechanics made sense. Damage scaled well with the Developer Mode option and reaching round 10 was done with basic shot, fire shot, and circle of life. You might consider replacing the end game screen to include a mocking gnome (one of the big enemy ones). Thank you very much for this submission to Pirate Software Game Jam 16.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes
Summarise your game!
Use your tower to protect the minions! They will gather resources for you. These can be spent to buy new abilities. But don't let the slow pace of the early game fool you, it gets harder fast.
The tutorial screen should explain everything.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
In this tower defense inspired game you actually play the tower.
You are the weapon.

Pretty fun! I got sucked in all the way to the end. It was a smart decision to make everything have cooldowns because it kept the basic shot relevant the whole way through. Though I'd have loved some sort of like, way to change how it worked a little over time. Like choose between bigger shot or pierces a couple enemies shot, or homing or something like that. It's always nice building up your basics. But even without that I enjoyed it quite a lot
Love tower defense games, nice and peaceful. Perhaps the ability to sell/unequip tier 1 abilities so you can swap them for tire 2 would be nice.
