  • I want to say this game was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed trying to walk without stepping on a single thing. The music was an amazing touch that gave the made me feel like I was taking a nice stroll through the valley on my way to a tea party. Overall gameplay experience: - I had fun on my first playthrough trying to not touch a single thing while also trying to collect my tea party materials. - I did find that even if you made a mistake and stepped on something you could go East or west and back to the original tile to fix it. - Once I beat the game I wanted to see how many times I could step on buildings and found out that it wasn't that many at all before the game ended. I enjoyed that fact because then I didn't feel like I could just stomp my way to the end. - I enjoyed the shakey feeling the foot gave as I was trying to be careful and make my steps count. Suggestions for further development of the game: - I think if you make an accidental crushing of something loved by the villagers that your next few steps are shakier then before. Maybe a relaxed meter or something to give you a more I should be more careful next time type feeling. - Maybe a random shuffle of the environment outside of the trails and other things connected to the map. Obviously you shouldn't break the road or rivers.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes !

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes !

Summarise your game!
You play as a friendly giant who have to cross a valley to join his giant friends for a tea party. You have to be carefull not to step on building and sheeps otherwise you'll be a sad giant.
Each screen you have to carefully chose where to step.
If you are nice you'll have clue to know where to go next, and to find sweets to bring to your tea party.
Try and cross the valley without destroying anything and collect all 3 items.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
In this game you play as a giant. Even though you are friendly, you are dangerous just by crossing an environment inhabited by humans and sheeps. You are a weapon by default, and have to be carefull of your surroundings.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
The idea behind this game was to learn how to make games, to use construct and to create original visuals. We wanted to avoid showing litteral weapons or firearms. Also we tried to not crunch and didn't work every day on it.
We are very happy with what we did

The theme and tone on this is fantastic and the art is beautiful.

Glad you appreciated it!

I like takes on the theme that tried to avoid literal weapons like swords/guns (although those are fun too, the originality is exciting!). The artstyle is one of my favorites from what I've played from the jam. Kudos on the sound design too. It was fun :) Great job!

Thank you so much! One of our first goal was to avoid using the litteral weapon. And also to make the player think about the destruction they are responsible for. Thank you for your comments!

This was such a fun play! The art, music & sound design all work together really well, I was STRESSED trying not to trample any tiny houses or sheep. Great job!

Thank you for the kind words!!

A nice and well put together game atmosphere. I think you should’ve stomped with the other foot every other time. It would feel more like walking.

Thank you for the feedback! We tried to have this feature but might have a bug when the replay button is triggered, that cancels the mirror animation. Thanks again!

Thank you so much <3

The art is fantastic! -- A really fun idea too. My only complaints are that the sound is loud and switching between arrow keys and the space button after taking a step -- which are easy to look past with the art.

Developer

Thank you so much!

We'll probably readjust the sounds and controls after the votes.

I love the vibe you achieved here!. Gameplay is super simple but effective, so good work there. The styling of the game reminds me of the golden era of flash games and yours made me feel a bit nostalgic. I guess now I'm a sad giant though :D

So nice to hear! I spent my Sunday mornings playing flash games as a young lad, and still consider some of them as the most effective games I've ever played. So compliment taken, thank you!!
