  • Okay, so the intro got me into this. You are hacking into a game. Love it. The audio design/music gave such a true tone to the concept in the GDD of an abandoned MMO. Great job on adding the music and air/wind sound effect to give it that feel! I like the name of the server/world as well. Very true to MMOs imo. The first town's music is so lovely. Gives a cheery medieval vibe. It took me a minute to see that the character was hidden underneath the tan hacking paper. Not sure if that was a browser issue for me or what, but might be good to make that opening hacking/connecting window go away once the hacking is complete to signify that it's accomplished. I read that you worked really hard on this and did so in a very small amount of time. That being said, GG! As you keep working, I'd suggest adding a bit of narration or self dialogue to show thoughts giving lore. Something like, "Wow this old game is really deserted..." or something along those lines. The art design, world and character design are all done really well. It felt like an old MMO to me the way you did all these things and the menus. GG! Being able to just walk through the wall was not obvious to me at first. Maybe explain why that's happening somehow or make an opening in the wall. I have quite a bit of feedback/tips above because I enjoyed this so much! The theme interpretation is a bit lose, but could be tightened up with a bit more lore explanation. That being said, I hope you run with this. What a really fun world you've created with great and believable lore! I think there's an audience for this type of game. For sure. Thank you for your submission to the game jam! Happy dev'ing!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes, I really hope so.

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
Ragnoira is an "rpg" game about exploring a dead mmo server basically looking back into the history of the place, it is in a prototype state

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
I wanted to make sure I hit the theme so I used it in 2 places:
1 the boring answer is that the character you play as uses its own powers as a weapon

2 the one I was hoping to use more, YOU are the weapon not anything in the game but you the player by using your tools as a certified "Hackerman" :) .

Controlls:
Move = WASD/Arrow Keys/D-Pad

Scroll = MouseScroll/F-G/Left-Right shoulder

Run = LShift/Right Trigger

Hit = LMB/Z/West Button

Pause = Escape/C/Start

Aim = RMB/X/Left Trigger

Use Item = R/V/North Button

Drop Item = Q/B/East Button

Inspect = Alt/Right Stick Press

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Uhh... have a good day.

Hey, I like where this is going. How far did you get in implementing them(in case I missed some secret)? I played in the browser and managed to get into the town area(There was no path there but one of the collision is missing on the right side by the sea so I get to see the village arts and the blue slime enemies). I really like them! They are well drawn! I also love all the chill atmospheric music!

Developer

Thank you for playing, I am currently polishing existing features just to make sure they can hold up because everything was pretty much rushed. As far as I know the only buggy feature is the goddess shop(which can be accessed by clicking on the statue) sometimes doesnt work on the browser couldnt replicate it in the editor yet. You get into the village using the wall without collision where the arrow was pointing the house that clips into the wall was the clue, the right corner was supposed to be for a secret but I ran out of time. There is also a forest to the left of the village and a graveyard above the forest with diffrent slimes. Although most of the pixelart is CC0 all the musics in the game were made by our composer. Hope to see you play again whern there is more to play.
