I'm going to take a moment here and acknowledge the "What I’ve Learned" GDD section before we get started with the GDD proper and game feedback here.
Mythikal,
I'm really glad you got this game prototype and GDD developed and submitted. This game plans to tackle some complex, painful and messy themes that will take a lot to develop and express fully. And I'm proud of you for allowing a second person in during development. It's hard having that humility and vulnerability in creative spaces. But you did the hard thing, and you got to grow and learn from this experience. That's part of what these jams are all about. I had to make sure that was acknowledged. I'm ecstatic you felt it was a positive experience for yourself. It was a positive for me getting to see this project's GDD and play it. I hope you've rested well after the jam and are ready to take on another or continue development on this submission. Thanks for sharing this with us. Continue to grow and kick ass.

Nate,
Thanks for working with Mythikal on this project. Your contribution and collaboration efforts really shined through on this. Your Music/SFX really enhanced the gameplay. I hope you both Jam again soon.

GDD
You hit all the categories needed and fleshed them out very well for planning. Great theme interpretation using human trauma as the centerpoint of it all. Loved the breakdowns of how each part contributes to enhancing the theme.
Game
Fantastic art style and implemented well. From the intro cutscene, menus, overall UI styling, and the tileset and characters. Loved the modifier multipliers being shown on the left. Excellent and effective representation of negative self talk on screen. Fun control scheme, It would also benefit greatly from adding twin stick controls with controller support. There were some performance and hitbox issues that impacted gameplay. Getting near enemies and attempting attacks resulted in frame skips and control inputs being missed at times. There were some player deaths from nearby enemies but not within collision range. If they had ranged weapons, there was no projectile indicator. Great powerup system and felt impactful as enough were gathered. Overall this was an enjoyable complete prototype translated great from a well written GDD.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes
Summarise your game!
Fight on your path to healing, use your passion for life (your souls flame) to conquer your trauma! Be careful or you may just end up becoming a weapon against yourself!
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
I wanted to incorporate the theme in as many ways as possible. The player being a weapon against the world, and even themselves. I want the story and themes of the game about trauma and your passion for life to be about how sometimes the bad things that happen to us hold us back from being our best selves, being a weapon against us.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
This is my first ever (somewhat) complete game and game jam! Any and all feedback appreciated!
Don't sleep on the credit song !!!
