Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
I am solo dev
I likke to merge bullet hell and visual novel, the art style you have is really good, and I like how the game looks and feel I rate graphics on top of everything but all is good really, also if you can please rate my game, thanks!!
Ah yes, throwing things at girl to make them your girlfriend. A true dating classic.
Joke aside, visual novel and bullet hell is an interesting mix! There are a lot of flaws to be honest and it's very difficult to feel the impact of our actions but as a solo dev, you can be proud of what you've done! :)
The most important thing to take from game jams is to be proud (or ashamed) of one’s work so it can be you learn from it. The aspect of the gameplay, although okay, could use some more cohesion, in the sense that the character wheel felt more like a longer lifeline than a choice of what to do (Mary is the only one that felt like I had to think before acting so that I had to either A. Close in with Aaron and deal big damage and risk it all with its special or B. Easily outrange with Archie and play it safe). What I really liked the most was the paper style art, it really felt unique.
The art styles great, feels very visual novelesque, I kinda just ended up getting close and spamming Aarons (I think that was his name, red hair sporty guy) attacks at all the girls til he died and then when all my boys died the level didnt end, the popular mean girl kept attacking non stop so I had to force quit but its very cohesive in design and was a good take on the theme
