Game's Take on the Theme
Spin the cylinder of the revolver to build a combo and deal more damage
Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
Yes, all music, and the majority of the art assets were made or modified (as in - using the base premade mesh and modifying it) during the jam
Difficult in the good way (makes you want to keep playing, doesn't make you think the game is unfair). Loved the low poly style, I think the only issue I found was the FPS dropping a little on the Web version which caused my revolver tempo to be off. I didn't see the download version until after playing T-T
Nothing much to say as it is Awesome for a game jam !!! Well done.
I loved the gameās aesthetics, and itās really fun. Great job!
Teh game visuals are really well made, the initial part with the computer and all the things in desktop made it more inmersive and cool, feels really like being there, the game mechanics are nice and feel natural, I like the ambient in the game, like a lot into the sci fi universe, so well made, I just find it hard to dash in some gaps but its just me, Im terrible in this style of jumps haha. I rate graphics, controls, fun, music the most, all is great really, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!
That jump scare got me at the start! Really fun game you have here! Love how you have to spin your barrel for more damage! Combat feels really clean to me!
(PS: If you're willing to I'd love it if you can rate and leave some feedback on my game! This is my first ever jam and I'd love to see where I can improve for the future!)
I got jumpscared when the first boss appeared, don't know if that was intentional or not haha.
The spin shoot mechanic is great and trying to keep on top of it while running and gunning makes the game alot of fun.
I also really like the office/computer opening, it did alot to set the tone.
Great game, good job!
Really cool game!! The revolver mechanic was really rewarding and challenging at the same time, for some reason I sucked a lot with it haha, but it was great fun anyways! Visuals were great in general, I specially loved the old monitor for the level selection, good job! :)
Oh I'm sorry for the unclear instructions, basically you right click to spin the cylinder of your gun, then a circle appears around your crosshair and you right click every time that circle becomes yellow. With every sucessful spin you gain 1x combo. And to open the door you have to shoot the box on the wall with a 5x combo.
Heart rate went through the roof! Amazing
Please rate my chill duck game.
Nooooooo my ābaguetteā language pack ;-; (thanks for rm -rf ref)
I love this game, honestly I was struggling to understand I had to spin the barrel of the gun but then I thought it was great fun and I love the atmosphere of the game!
This game is so, so, SO much fun. Hitting a 5x shot feels incredibly satisfying. Simple mechanic, but incredibly satisfying to nail and master it. Keeping a 5x going during the intermission phases of bosses such as The Meat and The Creep to then unload as soon as they show up was a really nice feeling, and great job on the visual and audio feedback when you land one of those shots.
I also really enjoyed the game's presentation, the Office sequence adds a lot to the game and is really cool, I enjoyed going through all the e-mails and it's nice to see you some small worldbuilding in a Jam game, the e-mail from mom was super cute. And then, as I was already really enticed by this initial presentation, I load up my first boss and see "Tip: Judging by your Office, you are probably an alcoholic" - that was the cherry on top, loved it!
You have something great here that can definitely be expanded on, really fun game.
Very, very VERY small nitpick: I feel a bit weird being able to press R to reload while at a full magazine; I mean it's not wrong per se, and could be a design choice, but at this point my brain has been conditioned by shooters that when you press R at a full magazine, nothing happens
This game is too damn good! I killed the Snake and got rick rolled bad by The Meat. That was a fun run :)
I really like the overall appearance and the menu scene is quite mood setter. Navigating through the OS Menus, the Text and accepting the contracts. Thatās quite charming!
The space station map is nicely looking, the sounds are great and has an eerie feeling to it. At the beginning you feel like that you getting jumped every second, which I did :p
The Snake felt rather easy to defeat even tho I struggled to time the empowered pistol attack. Which btw. took me a second or three, to notify within the short tutorial section that you can increase the multiplier.
So Iām a little torn on that mechanic. Everything felt great about the game, the movement, the shooting, but that multiply mechanic I struggled with in the heat of the Boss fight, even more while fighting The Meat as he rushes you quite often. Because of that mechanic you mostly run backwards facing the Boss to time your attacks as they fail so quickly.
But overall one of the best games in this Jam in my book. Job very well done!
First of all, why you gotta rick-roll me when I die ?
Anyway, this was a pretty good game. I played on the desktop version and it ran pretty well ( Even though it also cooked my potato ). However, I had a bug where sometimes spinning the revolver didn't actually cause the combo counter to increase and I had to shoot atleast one bullet for it to actually work. If it's because there was only one bullet in the chamber or something like that then I take it back.
It goes without saying that the game looks amazing overall. Props to the art team. Especially love the main menu suite. The emails adding more personality to the main character and the world of the game was pretty cool. Also loved the environmental storytelling with corpses around the place in the second boss. That said, I kinda wish the levels for the 1st and 3rd boss also had little details like that. The level for the 3rd boss felt a little too barren ( and not in a scary way )
On that note, I do feel like the look of the environments being the same kinda detracted from the horror of the game. I even thought the game bugged out at first when I started the 3rd boss since the level looked and felt almost exactly the same as the 2nd boss's level ( Just without the corpses ). Issues aside, these environments still managed to look great none the less. While I said before that the game actually got less scary as it went on, it didn't stop these environments from being pretty atmospheric none the less
Audio wise, I thought the sound effects were pretty well done, especially the sounds of the gun and the sounds of the footsteps of the boss. Those definitely caught me off-guard a few times. That said, I feel like the actual mixing could've been a little better since I could hardly hear the music sometimes even when it was maxxed out. When I could hear it though, I'd say it definitely went pretty hard. On that note since it had a similar vibe, I loved the blood soaked title cards for each boss. Definitely got me psyched to fight.
Now as for the character designs for the bosses, they're peak, nothing more to say there. Looking at the comments, I see I'm not the only one that got jumpscared by the snake lol. I loved the design for the meat. Felt like something straight out of manhunt. The aliens also looked pretty cool.
When it comes to the actual fights, I'm somewhat torn. I think the game is indeed tense and pretty damn frantic overall. Especially the fight with the meat where you need to watch out for the traps. However, I think all 3 of them were a little too similiar. For the most part the only real difference between all 3 fights was that the meat and the alien run away from you after a while. But otherwise, my strategy for each fight was unchanged ( i.e run away by a decent amount and then shoot ). In a way I suppose it still works since each fight atleast iterated on the last one, but I feel like a little variety in boss behaviours would've been cool. ( The aliens do shoot, but it doesn't change much ). Also I'm not sure if this was a bug, but the creep managed to shoot me through the shelf in the room of the 3rd level.
All that said, this was still a pretty damn good game overall. Kudos to the entire team
People should be paid to leave reviews like these, thank you for all the info ! About the bullet it is indeed that you can't increase the combo further then the bullets you have in the mag, although I agree on the fact that this would need some more indications. About the map unfortunately it's one of the last things I put together so it probably got a little less love then the rest haha (I tried covering it up by changing level tint and disposition of some corridors but I definitely see why you felt that levels looked similar). And I kinda had the same issue with the bosses where I would have liked to add more to them but the time was kinda short.
I'm very glad you took so much time and effort to rate our game, so really thank you for playing ! (Rick-roll was necessary :) )
An AWESOME game, the graphics, gameplay, and bosses are all steam worthy. I also really like the emails and world building. Each boss has something unique to offer and having a time based charge up was a really good idea, not only do you have to fight all of these bosses, but you need to stay calm enough to time each charge perfectly.
I refuse to believe something like this was made in less than a month, it's incredible. Really good job!
