Dude this was a great game--the writing is clever, the art is really nice to look at (especially the movements and style! I enjoyed the expressions a lot too), and THE UI IS AMAZING!!! The mechanic of delivering letters is so well done and I'm really impressed you managed to make a game that looks and plays like this in renpy? good work, seriously
Actually I'm seriously wondering how you managed to make the game menu (or whatever the menu that pops up when clicking escape in the game is called) look like that? It looks so cool
Thank you so much for playing and commenting! We're so glad you liked it!!
The pause menu is made up of four buttons that move separately. This is what the save button (the yellow pencil) looks like, and the others look pretty similar.
And these are the three transforms the save button uses. Each button has its own set of three transforms with a different delay before starting, which is why they wait their turn.
Thanks again for the lovely feedback!!!
ahh this is really helpful, tysm!!
This was so cute!! I loved the gameplay loop, it felt easy to understand and made me feel active in the world. I adored the colors and aesthetics so much, I was laughing and giggling throughout it. I really appreciated how detailed the art was in the backgrounds as well. All of the small animations where really beautiful, noteably the potion bottle from Dahlia and the way things sometimes flew around.
I've never used Renpy so I'm not terribly familiar with the engine but this ran smoothly and I didn't run into any bugs! The UI was clean and clear and the music was really sweet. I especially liked the tender track with the vocalizations near the end.
The almost B plot of the war and the demon lord felt like it fit the world and was also felt self aware and silly haha. It was fun, felt almost like a pastel themed scooby-doo episode, if that makes sense. Really great job yall!!
Hiya!! Super glad you enjoyed our game and took the time to leave us some feedback!! We greatly appreciate it <3
