Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
yes

Summarise your game!
You are sentient guns in a universe of careless gun owners. You must maneuver yourself back to you gun safe where you are secured and not a danger.

WASD -> Basic Movement
Return -> Pause
Left Click Hold -> Aim
Left Click Release -> Fire

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
It fits the theme because you play as a weapon and its a twist on the concept. As you aren't trying to fight or kill things with the weapon, you are isntead trying to prevent you from being used for that purpose; by going back to the safe you should be in. I wanted it to be about gun safety, but I didn't get around to doing the art. Next time I should be part of a team.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
no

Jam Judge

We apologise for the delayed feedback:

Hello Pirate Jammer,

Thank you for the submission. Starting with my experience playing the game.  I’ve got motion sensitivity and the screen was flying all over the place when I tried to fire to move around, some stronger camera controls and smoothing would be great. I like the general concept of hide and seek, gun style, for the theme interpretation. It will be interesting to see where you go from here. As far as I can tell there was no sound in this game, even some simple free sound can make a game a lot better. Finally, the GDD you made was good but more details would be better. One extra thing that could make your GGD stand out even more is some concept pictures and extra things that didn't/would not have made it into the prototype, knowing more about what you wanted to do would have been cool.

Thanks again!

Developer

yo thanks for the feedback.  I’m hoping next game jam, whether it’s this one or another, I’ll have more time to get a team together.  I’m glad you liked the concept, I wanted to see how well that kind of interpretation could translate to mechanics.  I still need to work on my 3rd person camera controls and enemy detection, but I’m glad y’all found the concept interesting.  Looking forward to the review streams of these games.  I can’t remember if you review all on stream, or only the top 10 or so.

I also wanted to include some environmental storytelling regarding the importance of gun safety, but since that never got realized, it doesn’t matter.  I’m so excited for the next jam!

wish y’all well,

Dana
