I really liked story mode!

Cool that you manage to add a projectile mechanic to the main stuff hoarding theme, but it's so hard to aim )))

Found some minor bugs but nothing that hurt fun.

I've never seen anyone succeed in expanding on elements of Katamari Damacy like this. Especially with regard to the fidelity and rationality of the story, it is enough to call this game the original Katamari Damacy.

Im happy to see you continued on this game! Very cute opening cutscene and a good expansion on the gameplay of the game!

That was a fun time. Good Job.

Absolutely amazing opening - your storytelling and animation is fantastic!  Also, I love the way you teach us how to play, while still continuing the story.  You actually made a cute dung beetle that I cared about.  The 3d world was amazing. I just wish I was better at moving around it, but the more I played, the better I got.   Overall, seriously impressive world you've created with some of the best animation I've seen!

Really fun game! A bit hard to control but easier to control than katamari haha.

The cut-scenes are pretty good, Would be good if you can accelerate that holding a button, I dont want to skip them, just wish they could go faster if I wanted.

Also, found a bug (no joke haha), at the shooting trial, couldnt progress because one of the targets was not counted as destroyed and needed to restart :(
2 bugs in fact: I cant move the camera on challenge mode :(

Anyway, excellent! I hope to see more!

Wow, the modeling work done for this game is incredible! I found the game to be a little too easy, but I still found the game enjoyable.

Developer

Thanks! During testing I had a complaint that it was way too hard, so I panic "easy-fied" it haha

Ha! I know the feeling far to well lol. Still a great game none the less!

The intro animation was excellent, I loved how the story was introduced :D

There's lots of new stuff, really cool to see! Still very hard to control all of it, especially the projectile throwing lol, but overall I think it's very nice what you've done with it. I had one issue though, where at some point my movement keys weren't applying any force to the ball, so I couldn't progress further. Had to go to the main menu to fix it but as far as I can see there's no way to continue where I left off or start at a specific level in the campaign, so I couldn't continue the story :(

But I liked what I saw, really good stuff!

Developer

Sorry about the movement bug.

I implemented a save function, but I didn't put in the extra effort to load in at different points in the story cuz of the extra bugs I knew itd cause πŸ˜… Glad you enjoyed what you played tho!

Amazing work!

This is incredible. I'm super impressed!

Well done! :D

I also got some fun interactions during the cutscenes with some duplicates :P

Funny cutscene
Developer(+1)

OMG thats pretty funny, also not sure why that happened, ill have to look into it

Ye it happened when I exploded with the bomb. I was able to run around during the cutscenes which was pretty funny! :P

Struggled in the aiming training. But fun game. I dont know how did you manage to add cutscenes and music and everything in so much details in just 2 weeks as a solo dev. This is so inspiring. I dream to reach your level one day!

Great additions to the first round version that meet all the criteria for this round. This is a really fun game with a solid style and theme. Well done!

Really nice, impressive that you almost made a full game. Only issue I had is that when you jump and move you speed up waaaay faster than on the ground. In level 1 had to go back 2 times because the bomb exploded because of the extra speed.

Impressive work tho :)

Developer

That is a great observation, thanks for bringing up!
Getting the overall speed of the game right has been one of the bigger challenges for sure.

really impressive entry, you managed to fit the game into the new criteria really well, great additions to an already solid submission, killing it! (insert another bug joke here)

The amount of cutscenes and engaging dialogue in this is super impressive for a jam game! The "collecting" part felt a bit long, otherwise the pace was perfect and kept me engaged! Sometimes there must've been some weird physics issue cause the ball got super slow, but jumping made it normal speed again. (This happened if I hadn't moved for a while, for example after a cutscene)

Great work with the music too, when it was used it felt great and added a lot, I wish there was more music!

Developer

Ah, those weird physics things were definitely terrain sculpting issues where I didnt properly smooth out slopes, thats my bad.

Glad you liked the rest though! I really wanted to make more music, but I had to focus on bug fixes and polish. Next round for sure tho!

the animation at the start of the game is sick, how'd you do that? great submission! looking forward to see what you do with this in the future

Developer(+1)

Haha thank you!

The intro cutscene was made using Unity's Timeline tool. Makes it easy to animate a bunch of objects in a scene like that.

This game is absolutely packed with character and charm. Had a great time, only played through story but I may come back to try the other modes later. The animals and the story and the art are just so cute. I had a horrible time during the aim training level as it felt pretty bad to aim but not egregiously so, however my cannons stopped firing and I had to restart the story. I found that even though I was having a horrible time I was also having a great time because of all the charm and cuteness. The story mode alone was incredibly impressive given the time constraints, and great job working in the story and the animals and mostly the projectiles. Well done, very impressive!

Developer

Ah! Sorry to hear you had trouble with the cannons. Theres definitely a lot of room to improve with the projectile system.

But I'm glad you liked everything else!

I don't know if it's just the cel-shaded art style, but this game reminds me of Wind Waker. Lovely vibe. Cinematics are top notch and just an all round fun game. You did a great job telling the story.

The game looks and sounds great, the story is simple but compelling, the cutscenes are cute and funny. I loved the Katamary when I played them and I love seeing it back here; my favorite part is still the arena battles. I had some trouble in the training when I was supposed to shoot down targets. I assume I need to throw myself at them with some degree of force (I am the projectile?) but I was only able to shoot down one. Other than that, everything else, great work.

Developer

Ah sorry to hear you had issues with the projectiles.

There were tooltips and dialogue in the training camp that explained how the projectiles worked, but as I thought it was a little too much info to dump on the player at once. (And tough to maneuver)
