How does the game fit the theme?
The game plays on irony—while the title suggests everything will go smoothly, the dog's relentless "help" makes things progressively worse. The loyal yet clueless canine constantly disrupts the player's progress, turning simple tasks into chaotic challenges. Despite its good intentions, the dog's actions—stealing the fishing rod, running off with caught fish, and blocking paths—ultimately lead to failure.

In the final boss level inside a dungeon, just as the boss is at low health, the dog steals your bow, leaving you defenseless and sealing your fate, driving home the theme through comedic misfortune.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All assets, except for the dog, were sourced from online resources. All code was developed in-house.

Interesting idea for a game to have a companion that messes with you, and it was fun shooting the skeletons and wandering around the level. There are a couple things I feel you would definitely improve this game:

1. Consistent pixel sizing. It was very off seeing the dog with smaller pixels. You can fix this by changing the Pixel Per Unit setting in their sprite image settings.

2. Clear Pixel Sprites: It seems like the main character has a blurry sprite. You can fix this by changing the filter mode to point (no filter) in  sprite image settings.

3. NO AI THUMBNAIL. It's sad to see AI for even the thumbnail of your game. This jam is about creativity and their are ALOT of people willing to connect with you and make something beautiful!

The game has the potential! Good job on the game!!

Was fun to shoot enemies. The dog did nothing but follow in my follow me in my playthrough, even though the description suggested he should have been more involved. Oh, and I found it hard to distinguish objective items from the environment. Graphics were pretty good, and overall it's a fun little game.

A tutorial would be nice, also some kind of hit indication on player. Also the player can get stuck surrounded by skeletons, although that could be thought of as a design choice. The gameplay otherwise is quite decent and the graphics and music are fitting. Great job!

I liked it! It was pretty fun to shoot the skellies. I wish that I knew more of what I was supposed to do.

Shooting felt very smooth, i loved the music and art chosen. The game did feel large and I felt a little lost, I feel a map or some helpful UI would have been great additions. Overall interesting and fun concept!

Good exploration and shooting.  Having some kind of map would have been really helpful though.

Functional and fun, good design choices like leading the character to the tree before the axe they need to bypass it. A minimap (or just a map) would have been nice, or some kind of quest marker. I found the axe but it was taking forever to find the next thing. I probably missed it by an inch and was looking in completely the wrong area.

I liked the exploration! It was not very intuitive what to do at first! But it felt great to shoot enemies

Great concept!
Sadly the dog did not do anything I noticed and a minimap would be nice :)

I can see where you were going with this.
The gameplay is alright, the visuals look pretty good, the the background music is fun.

The main flew I see are the visual bugs, the lack of SFX, and the lack of information about what the player should do.
It feels rushed and like it needed more playtesting.

It's a fun little game, I'm sure you'll improve with time.

Nice topdown fighting game, it feels nice to play even though it's in an early stage. Maybe consider adding some pathfinding AI to enemies? They get stuck pretty often.

When I play, it feels like I'm John Wick.

I love the cute dog, following me around :D It really adds a lot of charm to the game.

Give me strong zelda vibes! The game is very cool but I feel like a minimap is needed. Couldn't find 60% of the items listed in the description

I think overall this game was decently fun! I still feel as if the game is at a very early stage, but I think that the art and audio were both very nice (although the idle sprite for the character was a bit blurry?), and I think the gameplay loop could be very fun with some changes (maybe make it more chaotic?). But yeah, I had a very good time!

cool game

Good idea, it reminds me to Zelda and some similar others. The dog is too much different from art style and there are some little bugs (skulls deal damage also after dead and texture glitches in the idle animation)  but if you continue to develop, I will be happy to play it
