I tried running them again a couple of times but it kept on crashing my system

Developer

???? Explain?

Submitted

My fans would ramp up then my computer would crash I had to get a black screen I'm guessing it's something to do with the graphics drivers

high end polishing good job for the visual, it was cool to clean up, but i think i still wont do it IRL yet xD

Developer

sitting on houses can be tough

Submitted(+1)

Woah, the polish on this is next level! Love the cozy vibes

Developer

You just wait for the sequal when the tv switches inputs every 20 minutes

Submitted(+1)

The vibe looks like a relaxing game, however, it's really intensive having many things to "repair"

Game plays really well, art is really good and the VO is amazing.  I wish there was a bit of a better indication for where the issues are happening in the house. Something else which is small but just a tiny tweak is that the oven doesn't play the sound when you turn the last correct knob, sometimes it made me wonder if I did it correctly or not. Similar to the computer, I don't know if I put the correct password or not! Extremely well polished, great job!

Developer

if you didnt put in the right password the game would stay open ahahahaha

Yeah some improvements to feedback wouldve been really good I agree

I only start implementing a little wait time after completing the game after I had finished 3 of them so the hob laptop and fridge didnt get the nice little pause

This game is mind-blowing for especially for only 7 days. Great job! I loved the voice acting!

Overall I enjoy the aesthetic of the game. I really enjoyed the narration and she definitely felt like a nagging customer. I also some how knew she was going to give me a bad review... lol. I think all of the systems were well executed and the loads of interactions and mini games were nice. I will say that I do wonder if some of those systems may have been bugged. It seemed like I would address something such as the fridge and seemingly a moment later the fridge would be complaining again and restocked with new rotting food. Also I think there was  a time that I was checking all of the rooms and found nothing wrong yet the red light was blinking. I am not sure if I missed something but was there an app interface that would tell me what or where the problem was? Great job and great game especially for only 7 days or less.

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, you arent the first person to wish for a better indicator of where things were. Honestly I think that could be a symptom of me adding the bathroom right at the end since I ended up having more time than planned. Having 4 rooms instead of 3 made it a lot more time consuming to check them all. I think adding a room icon on the phone screen to tell you where is probably a good idea on reflection.

Also thats a weird bug that I've not seen come up before. The code behind that system is pretty simple so it breaking is quite suprising. I'll keep my eyes open for anyone else that experiences something similar

Nice storytelling and a good concept with nice visuals/audio. Got a bit stressful sometimes :D

Submitted(+1)

Very chill game, the mini-games that are included are very polished!

Submitted(+1)

great game!

"House Sitting" is a housemaid simulation game (kind of, but much more). It's a very polished entry, and the voiceover looks pretty professional. I look forward to seeing it evolve!

thank you so much <3

What is with Beth's house? Both her light bulbs spoil every day! No wonder she needed to buy 40! And she changes her password remotely every day? That's one paranoid lady! XD

Anyway, here are my thoughts in order as I played:

  • Voice acting is very well-done!
  • "Found you on the new website nothing-can-go-wrong.com", that was super funny!
  • Game has intuitive controls, and nice highlighting of something interactable!
  • For the toilet scenario, the bottom is cropped off, so I didn't know the plunger itself had to go "off-screen" for it to count. It stopped my progression a bit but not an issue nonetheless as I was able to figure it out.
  • Password hint: Literally the password, HAHA! LOVE IT
  • Some scenarios are a bit repetitive. (eg logging in multiple times a day)
  • The toilet one definitely appears too much. I was expecting some tasks like changing bulbs/fish feeding to be limited to once per day, so the game can "move on" a bit faster. (eg I didn't want to have to feed the fish multiple times a day, every day after the first time, which made the game feel a bit long).
  • I thought I threw out the food in the fridge already, but it needed me to do it twice on the same food on the same day.
  • I also got other scenarios twice in a row while I'm in the same room.
  • I get that the intent is to make it like so much is wrong with the house, and invoke a sense of frantic, but I think it ended up being a bit too repetitive.
    • Edit: Maybe on this point, a timer could be introduced, so it's less based on repetition and more on like "Okay I gotta try to do this in-time or I don't meet a quota" rather than doing it again and again. Then maybe based on the player's performance, it affects the ending review?

LOVED the ending though!! It was super funny and very well concluded HAHA.

If there was a humor category, I'd rate it 5 stars in that haha.

Overall, I liked that each minigame is very intuitive to do. And side point, you can play this game with just one hand so I could eat and play :D

Well done!

Developer

thanks so much for the indepth review!

I did spend a little time (literally on sunday morning) trying to implement exactly that timing system but I decided it would be a world of pain and if I broke the game in the process I wouldn't forgive myself ahahahaha

Thanks again! <3

Submitted

Haha true dat, glad to see you already thought of it!

And yea fully understand it might not be worth it if it means risking breaking the game that close to the deadline!

Submitted(+1)

Really cool game !

A little bit too much things to deal with at the end.

But definitely worth a shot !

(Got 4 stars !)

Developer

Yay! Thank you!!!

Might be one of the best games I've played so far. Great job, the toilet part cracked me up. And the art is so smooooth

Developer

Thats so sweet thank you so much! We're very proud of it

Such a lovely game! The voice acting is spot on, the moments in between chores are filled very well with the voice messages, and every chore felt unique and fun.

Developer

Yay! Thank you for playing!

Plunging the toilet was my favorite mini-chore! Loved it!

I thought all the management stress during the game jam was over. I guess it was not. I got a 10/10 review on my first week though B)

The game has a nice build up where you can scroll through the rooms to see what’s going on. At first I didn’t know how to get into the house, so I restarted the game only to realise I had to open the phone and listen to the message first. Perhaps, it was me, perhaps it should’ve been clearer, or both. It’s not a difficult game in terms of mechanics but it did got me hooked. I wanted to perform well even though this so-called Beth was telling me here smoke alarm went off. Made me unsure whether I was doing well, but in the end I did apparently!

Great game, well done you guys! Enjoyed it a lot. Also, those fish eat a lot, wow.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

The fish yearn for the flakes...
