How does the game fit the theme?
Working in a budget shop where you are the only employee at the till, with a never ending queue, a faulty system, and even people trying to cheat by sticking discount labels onto normal goods, are surely going to go well. Surely Nothing can go wrong... right?
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All audios only

Cute game! Love the concept plus the controls worked well (the scanner was a little finicky but it kinda added to the experience) loved the chill music and cute art style. Great job!
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game!
Really fun game, I love the concept, the tutorial kinda floods you with info, but I was to figure out the game mostly without it, but I had to check the note to open the computer. Overall really solid game
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game! The monitor issue was known after the deadline and we've asked the mods if we could fix that. Sadly no. We should have seen this earlier though.
It looks fun, but I have difficulty playing on my laptop, because I can't press right-click while holding left-click. Maybe in the post-jam version, you can include a couple of alternate keys.
Thank you for checking out! We are terribly sorry for not considering trackpad players. It's one of those blind spots where none of us were using computers with trackpads when making this game. Lesson learnt. It should be just a simple fix of adding in a button like space to use an item. :( Sigh, mistakes were made, sadly.
I like it, it's pretty addictive and really fun once you get the hang of it, but the process of getting it is pretty long and tedious. The tutorial doesn't really communicate that well what I have to do, and also the game itself doesn't really tell me what I did wrong, so I ended up failing and failing over and over again. Took me several runs to get the hang of it. I feel like a popup on the screen telling you what you did wrong at that moment, like the sanctions in Paper Please, is extremely needed here.
Besides that, I love the visuals of this game, the UI is really clever and how it fits really well with the setting, and the theme is really cleverly implemented by making the screen randomly popup error minigames.
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game! Yeh these are the things that we've done badly, and the game really suffers for it. Especially telling what the player did wrong would be hugely beneficial. It's like that you've encountered a customer trying to swap out the discount label, making the item shown on screen not match what you've scanned. The correct course of action here would be sounding the alarm, but I don't think we did a remotely good job of telling this to the player. Anyway, thanks for your detailed comments, and it will certainly help us a lot.
Really well thought out and executed, especially liked the concept of the POS that can bug and crash, where it takes an obnoxious amount of time to get it correct again.
Also liked the explanations, could be cool to add some story into this like how it was done for paper please
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game! I am happy that you mentioned Paper Please as this game does draw some inspiration from that wonderful game. That would be a very nice idea if we ever want to make this into a full game!
I really like the spiffing brit references. Great game.
Cheers mate! Hope you are having a blast!
The art is really good actually! The animations feel smooth, I like the forced tutorial, and there is actually a bunch of content crammed into the game for a one week jam! I don't really like how the tools are spinning around though, but maybe that's just preference :)
Thank you for playing! Thank you for the kind words, and I am glad you enjoyed the game! Other people also mentioned that the tools are spinning around too much. We probably need to take a deeper look into that. Thanks!
So nice guide design and animation's. I really enjoy to work at shop like this. Phone delays, cool idea!
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game!
Such a Nice Game, a Chill Good idea and nice implementation The Only Problem I Faced Was That I Didnt Know How To Send The Items Until I Read The Comments And Found It Out, and it Would Be Better If The Machine Has More Distance With The Ground, Overall It Was very Nice And I Enjoyed Everything About It. Good Luck
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game! We should really do a better job telling people that you could pull out the monitor. Our bad. The monitor originally had a bit more space underneath it, but it was moved to make way for the timer on top. I guess we should have a better think of how the UI should be placed. Thanks!
I enjoyed this take on the theme. It looks like we both ran with a 9-5 day job grind for our games, but in wildly different directions. Good job on this one, you should be proud!
Thank you for playing! I hope you enjoyed our game! To be fair job sims seems to be one of the most prominent game types in this jam, and I don't blame them. It's fun!
Game itself was fun but on mistakes a more clear tell of what was wrong would of been nice. I felt compelled to keep playing but was frustrated when it was telling me I was wrong when seemingly nothing was.
Thank you for playing! I hope you still enjoyed the game despite that. But yeah, telling what the player has done wrong would have been a very good feature. Will find a way to achieve that post jam. Thanks!
This was unreasonably well polished! Very fun and simple ( and stressful lol). Took me a while to figure out that I needed to pull out the POS/monitor, but besides that it was great! Great job!
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game! Yeh we need to convey better about the monitor, and that's a core part of the game dammit!
Great game, very polished, and funny game mechanics. It took a while to understand them, but it's worth it. Only things I can't understand is the barcode scanning, it took me alot of tries to be able to scan it.

Speedrunning to get fired.
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game! The barcode should be just as simple as letting the red line go across the barcode. But I do get some reports that the barcode doesn't work nicely, and I should really look into that. Quite bad if we can't get the core mechanic working perfectly. I can imagine the constant alarm for the speedrun lol, should be very funny
I am no shop assistant. I am the scanner! Fun ragdoll mechanics for the equipment. Defiantly a game you get better at with practice. Well done. GG
Thank you for playing! Thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoyed the game!
Very Nice art overall a good experience!!!
Thank you for playing! I hope you enjoyed the game!
My drunk arm controlling the beeper thing is out of control! :P
Thank you for playing! I hope you enjoyed the game!
I had to read the instructions twice to completely understand. I love how you put your "signature" at the end. As an artist myself, I hide a "signature" in my games. I'm not sure if the tools being hard to straighten out was part of the design idea but it definitely felt "wrong" as in "nothing can go wrong" so intentional or not it was well attached to the theme (also the tablet malfunctioning)! I really want to see this game become something bigger and longer with different levels and worlds! It was really really cool!
Love the style! it was great! I had a hard time understanding how to play at first, checked out my first customer on like my 4th try xD didnt understand why the computer kept crashing. I think the rotation of the tools added too much difficulty, would have liked to have more controls, like pressing space to accept the scan so you can scan another item without releasing the tool, could have maybe just also rotated the tool with AD instead. I hope you keep updating it and balancing it!
Other than that, had to reload the game 3 times for the tutorial to show up, i thought that was the screen i was supposed to right click and draw since it just stayed white.
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game! The computer will crash when you scan something while it's still loading. It's intended but we've just done a poor job conveying that. I am thankful that you continued to play after that! Pressing space for scanning is a very nice idea, and it should also solve issues some players faced when playing with only a trackpad (i.e. they can't even play) The screen not showing was new to me though, I need to take a deeper look into that. Thanks!!
This game is amazing! Extremely polished, the art looks great, the sound effects are lovely, and the mechanics feel nice. Well done!
Thank you for playing! Thanks for the niceword and glad you enjoyed the game!
This game makes me realize maybe I'm not cut out for a retail job... Amazing art! Very polished! Cute concept. Fantastic game you've made!
Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game!
