Game Description
A short moving picture on the theme of "Erasure", Archival Oblivion takes place in a world where history is at risk of being lost forever. Join our hero as they gain new skills by learning from history, and endeavour to save all the creatures of the Archives before time runs out.
How does your game tie into the theme?
The player must collect archival artifacts before they are erased, depicted in part by using visuals which are faded/fading. The game uses public domain imagery and audio to highlight the themes of history and erasure.

The art style of the horse was so good! Very original, great work!
Thank you! The horse is one of the short moving pictures created by photographer Eadweard Muybridge in the nineteenth century :)
I bet he would have never guessed it would be used like that ;)
Love the style of the game, the classical movie like introduction is very nice and original, also nice use of the theme, today we're talking and doing conservation for video games too. The controls are a bit "slippery" but still the experience is enjoyable because of its originality. Nicely done.
Thanks for the feedback! I definitely want to work on balancing controls, others have given some good feedback on that so I'll be taking that into the next jam :)
Nice use of archive materials, managed to get all nine on my second run! Although the darker style worked well, it did make it difficult to see the progress bar at the top sometimes
Well done! Yes the progress bar was a last-minute addition, I think it could definitely stand out better.
What a cool game! I love when there are entries that are sooo different from all the rest. The music and image choices all went so well together! Just an FYI, as someone without a 4k monitor, the game starts out too big. Thankfully the full screen button shrinks the game to fit my 13 year old monitor. This is what I was able to save on my first run. I'm gonna go give it a second try and hopefully save more!

Thank you - I'm glad you enjoyed it! Good tip about the screen size. I noticed this after uploading. I will make sure to configure the screen size more appropriately for my next upload. Great fist run - there are nine to collect in total!
Really interesting stylistic choices - I loved the old movie style intro, music and general look/feel to it. I also was pleasantly surprised to see all the items I gathered displayed at the end. The zoom out on the dash felt a bit jarring for me but other than that I enjoyed this entry, really nice work!
Thank you for playing! I agree that the dash/zoom was a bit much - I think maintaining a simple dash may have been better. Glad you liked the art and music :)
I really liked this
The audio was great
Thank you! The music is The Flying Dutchman Overture by Richard Wagner, performed by Arthur Pryor's Band and now in the public domain :)
that's awesome :D
This is a piece of art! brilliant use of public domain material - it suits the theme extremely well. I think you can be very proud of what you have curated and archived in this production.
Thank you, glad you like it!
What an amazing, unique, bold choice of visuals!
Thank you - people have responded well to the visuals which is great :)
Cool concept. I liked your take on the auto run gameplay. I think it would be interesting to provide a reward for the number of artifacts you collect.
Thank you for playing :) Yes good idea - if I come back to this game I will look at implementing some more feedback for when you collect the artifacts
Cool little game! The idea and atmosphere were very unique and well done.
Thank you for playing :)
I could see the images fading and it was a neat concept. I found the controls of the dash a bit hard to focus and concentrate as it zoomed in and out. Nice job, the music was fitting.
Thank you for playing! Others have found the dash controls tricky, so if I return to the game I'll work on balancing that.
