Solid game, except whenever Hina's hitbox gets screwed over as she changes size
Really liked the concept, but the ending bit kept blindsighting me with hits that I couldn't see coming.
There's a severe issue with Hina's hitbox, I don't get why the attack and Hina's ones are quite similar, it almost feels like mega man's topman power up and not in the good sense, plus, the fact that you cant walk diagonally makes this a lot harder.
It's not quite clear when you grow, it could make more sense to have 3 to 6 indicators instead of 5, since growing suddenly can deal damage to you and it feels quite unfair.
Other than that, I loved the music and visuals, puzzles might be a challenge but at least they're manageable.
The concept of the game was very cool! Scaling up and down was front and center, and there were different design elements in the levels and foes to make them work well.
The gameplay did suffer from some hitbox issues - especially lingering hitboxes from projectiles, and mis-sized hitboxes on some foes. A lack of regen or checkpoints became a small issue near the end as well.
Edit: Also, occasionally, foes could leave a room with a locked door and prevent it from unlocking, softlocking a level.
There wasn't much story to speak of, but what little was there actually fit quite well with the retro style that the game was going for.
In fact, the art style and music were very fun additions to the theme. Although the music was rather quiet compared to what I'm accustomed to, the songs are fun to listen to. Also, the theme of the game is integrated really well into even the title.
Overall, it was a very fun retro-style game concept, and I enjoyed playing through it entirely!
Game crashed in the third level when i went down from the garden room (the one that you get a peak at from the start of the level then have to be a giant to break the blocks to enter at the end). So idk what happened there.
Game is pretty difficult but that's only because of janky hitboxes. Bullets seem to hit me even though they don't look anywhere near me and what's more problematic is expanding in the middle of a fight making your hitbox expand to an enemy and getting you hit. The game should have iframes when expanding and even when getting hit the iframes for that are way too short. Or atleast, there should be ways to heal in a level so that getting hit isnt so punishing.
Other than that the level design is pretty decent and the pixel art is lovely.
It's got some cute ideas, but. pressing a diagonal input just halting you in place is REALLY bad. Even if you can't move diagonally, it needs a priority system to maintain what you were just doing or something; just halting in place when you need to dodge something and getting hit for it feels pretty bad. And getting hit because you hit something and got meter, causing your hitbox to expand into the thing you just hit is just... misfortune.
Nice concept and game, the art, story and music are good, but the hitbox is pretty weird, sometimes I just get hit even tho they arent even in range for me to hit them, needed a good moment to figure out I should explode that large block, and diagonal movement is just not a thing it seems
still overall, a nice game, good job
I like the concept of this one a lot, and a Hina zelda-like is pretty neat, I do wish that the solution to 90% of rooms wasn't to stand still and spam spin until everything dies and not being able to move diagonally is totally fine but it's pretty rough when pressing 2 inputs causes you to halt in place. Other than that, This is a fun game, great job!
