I like this game, especially having a narrator.. It was simple yet atmospheric and it also had nice and smooth mechanics. I also like that the flashlight uses battery power. I think the team did a great job. Look forward to seeing this developed further.

I'm not into horror games and I had to quit before the ending XD haha. But the atmosphere was good, monologue was fun and the idea is really great. The only thing that annoyed me in the start was the constant Cuckoo that drove me to insanity and let me off my path :D Maybe randomize it a bit. :D

Nice short and atmospheric game. You can really feel the Stanley Parable inspiration and the VA for the narrator is really well suited. I got the good ending first, but the bad ending was really creepy. Just something I didn't understand. I picked up a lot of batteries on the truck just outside the road,
but my flashlight still ran out as soon as the monster woke up. Was there a way to use them I didn't figure out?

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed :D

You can only use 1 battery at a time, due to time limitations. So if you find one. the flashlight's battery just goes to 100%. We are working to address that at the next build after the jam will be finished.

On first try i didn't listen to the narrator and got the 'bad ending', the second time i listen careful, and got the 'good ending'. Now have to get the third ending... Graphics are really good, maybe more visual feedback when getting attacked and dying, and showing game over scenes...Love the narrator, and this style of gameplay where the narrators answer depends on the game choices. Would love to see more.

I really enjoyed this game! The first time I played it, nothing ended badly and I didn't realize there were other endings, but the great voice acting and the cool walking animation still made it fun, then I saw he comments and tries going off the path, and it was terrifying, well done on this game :)

As soon as I could, I strayed off the patch and the narrator got upset with me. Overall, a fun game with great narration that puts it ahead of other games in a similar genre. It was fun to try and explore the different parts of the forest while being chased!

I liked your idea! You predicted all outcomes that players always do :) I completed game with 3 endings. Are there more?

Developer

Thank you! Good job - only 3 for now! :D

What a lovely narrator and such a great humor. I like the Stanely Parable comparison, they have similar vibes.

I did experience a couple of crashes here and there but I really enjoyd playing it!

Hello, I just tested your game, and I really loved the mix between horror and narration! It works really well, it’s both funny and scary at the same time, especially when we’re being chased while the narrator keeps talking to us haha. The graphics are great too! Really good game!

Hahaha, I loved the concept and execution of it! Honestly, I kinda just wish there was more of it! It felt like if The Stanley Parable went full horror game. It would have been cool if different things happened depending on when you stepped off the path. I would have loved if there were moments like, "See? Just a sign, telling you where your house WAS, which you didn't need because IT WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU AND NOW WE'RE LOST!" As a small complaint though, I couldn't seem to get the flashlight beam to function. At no point did the monster seem effected by it. Other than that, I had a good time and the game gave me a chuckle.

Love the voice over!

Very well made. Were there any extra batteries besides the one at the car?

Scary and funny at the same time! I really like the narrator!

Pretty neat concept for a game, liked how the narrator; felt like a Stanley Parable thing- I died numerous times after following the path the first time XD

I'm not a fan of horror games simply because I get scared tooooo easily.  I was so surprised and relieved during my first run when I saw an actual good ending without weird encounters or anything going wrong. It was really funny. The voiceover's cool and well made, the encounters with the monster are frightening (at least for me lol). You could make the running animation a little bit better, the player looks like he's punching the air. The ambience is nice,  simple but fits the vibes :)

I love the narrator's voice and how he accompanies you on the adventure. It was a lot of fun, the game is very good.
