Well wasn't *that* a trip and a half, heheh~! Easily a very memorable entry to this jam so far -- I certainly felt a hypnotic power from this one! (Then again I think I'm an easy hypno-target)

Absolutely incredible work with solid production all around. Very great project, enjoyed myself throughout!

(BTW there was a moment at the very end, at the final blackout, when the textbox vanished before Felicity did which revealed where the character sprite was cut off, but that's the only thing of note I have :3 )

(I originally noticed it on the web-version but double checked the windows version and it's there too. Not sure if you mind too much though)

A polished and beautiful visual novel! Felicity has lots of fun expressions to set the tone for everything that happens. There are some great scenes and excellent writing, with a fair amount of player choices to be made. The music felt a bit too prominent, but it still fit the mood nicely. A subtle highlight or text hint for what you have selected could help with finding everything that's clickable in the interactive scenes.

Having the story focus primarily on a single character was a really good choice, it allowed for a lot of development to happen very quickly and left me with a stronger sense of connection than with other games of similar length. Very well done!

amazing!! i have such a crush it's unreal

Oh yeah, this one's spicy. I know some people I'll be showing this to. 😼 The writing has a wonderful sense of humour to it as well, and the VN is quite long for a game jam entry. I was impressed with it.

Speaking of being impressed: The art here is super pretty, and both the world and the characters have a lot of... well, character to them. Excellent job.

First of all, love the Edwardian hypnosis. I am a massive, massive fan and I wish it appeared more in your other games, but I understand it's hard to get that kind of thing across with only 'scenes', you need a dedicated storyline to break down someone's mental barriers using that tactic and word association
Speaking of, i love it.
 I mean really~ loved it, I was hanging on to the narator's words. Also, FABULOUS storyboarding. The backgrounds just happen to be sunset bathed GOLD and ORANGE ...ahh, classic, hinting that this is all just an illusion, or a hypnosis induced recall state, put together by a CERTAIN cat~

My goodness, I could gush, the writing is fantastic. It's a little bit sad that the story is- as most mind washing stories are- railroading your choices to be meaningless. But that's okay. I like it. In fact, I find it endearing that you made the story address this, IN THE NARRATION that certain key elements to an otherwise very normal fantasy story opening would be glossed over, and thus help the reader dismiss these illusions of choice~

I am...Not, a pawslut...shocking, I know~ but the scene itself did not feel bad or like a pain to get through since you layered it with more of that Edwardian hypnosis, (My goodness I hope I'm referencing the right guy) with the word association and the color usage helping inform the reader of how their perceptions change and the notes about breathing and adjusting thoughts~
Wonderful work Cit~ simply fabulous!~ Hope to see more where the protagonist is turned into a submissive toy <3 <3

Gorgeous art. Music is good but looped a bit too often for how long it was being played, I can still hear Lil Jon screaming at me as I write this. Dialogue pauses were pauses for an excruciating amount of time; I get wanting pauses for pacing, but I'm not used to a VN deciding to take control of the pace to this level of an extent without having some sort of choreographed animation or sound or some other moment as the reason for the delay.
As pointed out, I barely noticed the usual Ren'Py UI elements were even present (and I did have to make use of back a few times, for some reason some of the choices were weirdly hitchy and laggy and just decided to choose themselves, which would feel appropriate if not for it being one of the earliest options going)

The writing is phenomenal. Loved it all, including the ~mystery narrator~. Felicity sure is a character. (and I don't even know what I mean by saying that, but whatever he is, he is the most.) The coffee order nearly killed me.

I was actually kind of taken aback to see it end, even though for a jam game this already runs on the longer side (such is the nature of a VN). I would absolutely be intrigued to see this expanded upon somehow.

Oh, gosh! Thank you for such a well-thought-out comment, we really appreciate the feedback!

I'm really unsure why those issues arose (besides some UI stuff like white-text-on-white background or the tiny elements on the bottom). I actually noticed some stuff while playing through the web version just to test it, like sprites taking a second to load for the first time, so any laggy pauses or choices being selected could be a problem from running it on web (which was a last-minute option admittedly!) with the downloaded version running more smoothly... then again, it might just be that I don't know how to optimize renpy games! This was my first time compiling one! Pauses like that definitely weren't intended, in any case. ; w;

We've talked about expanding it further and I think we all want to!!! I have a story I really want to tell and a bunch of writing left-over that I had to cleave from the final build. We're just all a little tired and busy for our own various reasons, but I'll be back at it before you know it!

Also yes. Felicity is designed to be the most The Most he can be. :3

Well written and a very charming character! My main critique is the some UI elements are hard to read. For example, the mini menu at the bottom overlapping the bottom of the dialogue box, and some menus, like the Help and About having white text on a very light background. There were also sections where it felt like the game seemed to freeze, not sure if it was an intentional.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The white-on-white was a total oversight on my end, though in terms of the game "freezing", there's a few sections where it slows down or pauses/waits for input by design, which is something I just generally like in terms of dialogue pacing. If there's something outside of that, I haven't worked in renpy enough to know how to better optimize a project! ; w;

Ok, then yeah it was probably a mix of intentional pauses and my computer being a bit slow. I think the biggest pause that I noticed was after the dialogue "It doesn't really matter what someone calls me, so long as they keep calling me.~"

This is really really hot! I'm a sucker for non-vocal hypnotic audio, and the writing + art in general are really nice :)

I highly recommend everyone go play "A cat you'lll never forget". Its such a wonderfully designed and created date with our favorite pink kitty. Its laced and perfectly painted with so much charm and love, ive gone through multiple playthroughs just to talk to felicity more, and see all of his cute reactions to my answers and choices.
what a Purrrfect little dating sim.

EHEHEH, thanks! I loved the personality in the characters in YOUR game too! It gave me really good Classic Adventure Game vibes-- especially when the walkthrough came in so helpful. :3
