It’s not too often that a game jam game sticks with me well after I’ve finished playing it, but this is definitely one of those rare cases.

Having a Papers Please style game about for-profit health insurance is a pretty brilliant concept, and you executed it beautifully. The creepy sterile old school Macintosh aesthetics, judicious use of disturbing music and sound design, and the grim real-world horror of the subject matter all came together to drive this one home for me.

The inability to move the windows around that so many other people have mentioned was a small nuisance, I’ll admit, but not a huge issue for me. I personally didn’t mind the minor learning curve of figuring out the system either, because it sort of simulated the stress of the insurance worker in a way. But it does make sense that some people might want a tutorial.

Overall, fantastic game. Super impressive for the scope, especially given that this appears to be a one-person show. I hope you make this into an expanded game at some point. I’d absolutely play it.

I really appreciate your feedback and am glad to hear that you enjoyed the game! It's great to see that the themes resonated with you and I am pleased to know that you valued the "real world horror" angle. (An expanded game is definitely an interesting suggestion- a lot did get cut due to the time limitations of the jam).

I really got some Papers Please vibes here. This was kinda cool. I appreciated that I could change the colours of the screen - it was a nice touch.

Thank you for the kind feedback!

This is a cool game and a wholesome experience to play. While it's true that more control around the windows would be great, I don't think it's a big deal to go around closing and opening them. The only thing I would've appreciated is a little tutorial, it took me a few runs to understand every mechanic, and even then I made a few mistakes and almost didn't get to the end of the game. Other than that, this is an awesome story told in a very creative and sutile way than makes the experience even better. In fact, it's what kept me playing even when I didn't understand the mechanics at all lol. Great job here!

Thank you for the kind words- glad you liked the story. I appreciate the feedback regarding a more clear tutorial- that's something I should consider in future projects. Thank you.

Excellent, really loved the whole experience. While I agree with other reviews that it would've been great being able to move the windows around, the whole plot and theme behind the game made me very compelled to look past that tiny feature missing.

I really have no other critique, for me it was perfect. 5 out of 5, for sure!

Thank you for the kind words! I am happy to hear that you appreciated the plot :)

This is a really interesting idea that could definitely be developed further. I haven't played many games of this genre, but I really enjoyed it. I think having the windows be movable or maybe have less overlap for readability would be super helpful because I found myself reopening windows quite a bit.

Great job!

Thank you for playing! (I wanted to implement movable windows but ran out of time for the jam, maybe in a future update!) Appreciate the feedback.

I love games like Paper Please. I'm not sure if mine was buggy but I wasn't able to move the windows around. Having that capability would make the game a thousand times better. That way you can check more than one piece of info at a time, and you wouldn't have to continually close and open new windows. Keep it up!

Thank you for playing! (I wanted to add the feature of moving windows around but ran out of time for the jam deadline.)
