ashamed to admit that i am a horrible contraceptive
(solid little arcade-style game! the zombie apocalypse style-tagline made me chuckle, and the balance of speed with not spinning out gives it a sprinkling of depth as well.)
i got 158 points yipee. I like the theme of this one
Intresting and fun. There is enough there to catch some players to replay it a lot so it's a success in terms of a jam game!
this is crazy work for 24 hours. i got 200 something but i could see myself going for higher and really mastering the spin-out state. i too wasn't initially sure if that state was something that was supposed to be avoided or not, given that it does also keep you going at high speed. but ultimately i do kinda love the cost/benefit balance to it
Ultimately the spin-out state was supposed to be a bad thing, meant to kick in when you're pushing your luck and throw you way off course, but lots of players seem to have gotten the hang of it.
I'll very likely rework how it works when I rework the player movement.
Quite a complete game for a single day of work! Slow egg penetration and bot spinning at high speeds are neat mechanics.
Really funny idea, and it's nicely put together for a game made in the last 24 hours of the jam. It would be interesting to see what it could become if you keep working on it!
The start feels really slow, though. It took several seconds just to spawn a single spermatozoid.
Also, as Bhijn already said, you should consider porting the game to the web. People are lazy (myself included) and tend to play web games more easily on Itch, especially small arcade ones. It’s a simple way to get more people to try the game and for you to get feedback 🤔
Yeah, I agree, the start of the game is really slow. Due to how spawning is set up, I wasn't entirely sure how to speed up the beginning without entirely messing up the balancing.
And yeah, gotta figure out the web export.
For it's short dev time, it's pretty well made.
This is a pretty cute and charming little game! For something made in only 24 hours, it’s surprisingly functional! Counterintuitively, we found the spinning-out state to be easier to control than the standard movement state, especially once the game becomes a sperm hell where the most effective strategy is to keep sliding around the circumference of the egg.
Additionally, this game functions flawlessly when exported for the web! We tested this by decompiling it, re-exporting the project for web under Godot 4.3, and running the result locally. Everything functions exactly as intended, no rendering is impacted (no mobile/forward+ exclusive features are used), and the process of restarting to try again feels slightly less awkward in a web environment (as hitting F5 to refresh is less clunky than alt-f4’ing and re-launching). It’d probably be worth taking the time to upload a web export for this game!
Thank you!~ I wasn't sure if I would be able to finish the game as quickly as I did, but I sure did!~
As for a web export, I've actually never done it before. I'll have to give it a shot!
Although I should also add a proper way to restart the game too, among other things.
Finally got around to setting up the web version! That was easier than I anticipated.
10/10 on the basis of it's functional and fun while made at the LAST damn minute
ty!~
Fun little Arcade game. Missing a Score imo, unless there is a ending and I'm just bad at the game xP
The final screen tells you how many sperm you managed to destroy, which I guess is a kind of score.
Also no, you can't win.
I also wasn't super sure if the spinning was on purpose or a bug, but other than that it's a pretty fun and elegant game. I would just suggest to add one of these main menu templates from godot asset store. They usually come with a basic options menu and are fast and easy to put on your project and customize visually
The spinning is supposed to discourage the player from going too fast. Before I added it, it was too easy to get extremely high scores.
I'll admit, I should've added more feedback about it, lots of people seem to be confused about it.
Actually very fun even not considering the kink aspect!
Short and sweet. I found the spinning out felt like it happened pretty arbitrarily, some feedback about speed would have been nice. The execution is a bit too plain and simple for my liking, but I think the foundation is solid.
I did make this game entirely in the final 24 hours, so some QOL features didn't make the cut due to time.
A lot of things that I'll consider if I ever come back to this.
